DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (1/7/20): NBA DFS Lineups

It is important to pay attention to patterns in this league. We are nearing the point of the season where these patterns start to switch from potential flukes to actual trends.

This slate consists of six games and we take a look at some new and (somewhat) old faces who have great opportunities to surpass their current price tags.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 1/7/20.  You can also check out today's FanDuel lineup picks.  Remember to monitor injury news as the slate can completely change before line-up lock.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Kyle Lowry - PG, TOR v. POR ($8,700)

Fred Vanvleet (hamstring) has already been ruled out of Tuesday's contest with the Portland Trail Blazers, leaving 15.0 shots and 22.9 percent usage on the table for the Raptors. Insert Lowry who has scored at least 20 points in four of his last five games and has not produced less than 30 DraftKings fantasy points in over 10 games. The Trail Blazers give up the fifth-most DraftKings fantasy points to opposing point guards this year and just gave up 29 points and 13 assists to Miami Heat point guard Goran Dragic. The last game VanVleet sat out, Lowry dropped a triple-double against the Detroit Pistons. Look for Lowry to soak up usage against Portland.

Shabazz Napier - PG/SG, MIN @ MEM ($6,100)

Napier has posted at least 20 points in four straight games while leading the Timberwolves to wins in three of those games. Jeff Teague even returned from injury, yet Napier's production and starting role remained unchanged. Napier and Minnesota visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday who give up the eighth-most DraftKings fantasy points to opposing point guards so far. They also give up the fifth-most points off turnovers and sixth-most fastbreak points to opposing guards. Napier appears to have locked up the starting job for now and it is a solid bet to roll with him while he's hot.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Anthony Davis - PF/C, LAL @ NY ($10,700)

Despite continuing to show up on the injury report with a shoulder injury, Davis has not been forced to miss any games since December 17th and his play has certainly not suffered. Davis is averaging 27.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.2 blocks and 2.0 steals over his past five. Davis is coming off a ridiculous eight-block game against the Detroit Pistons and faces the visiting New York Knicks. The Knicks rank in the bottom-10 in fastbreak points, points in the paint and points off turnovers to opposing forwards. With the resurgence of showtime in L.A., Davis should make short work of the Knicks in this one.

Sekou Doumbouya - SF/PF, DET @ CLE ($4,700)

Blake Griffin (knee) is nearing the end of his season with a knee injury and Markieff Morris (foot) is not close to returning either. Doumbouya has started the last three games and posted averages of 12.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.7 three-pointers over 33.0 minutes per game. Doumbouya also held his own against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, despite fouling out in 34 minutes. Things get much easier against the Cleveland Cavaliers Tuesday. The Cavs allow the fifth-most fastbreak points, sixth-most points off turnovers and eighth-most points in the paint to opposing forwards this year. With Griffin and Morris already ruled out Tuesday, look for Doumbouya to see big minutes as a starter yet again.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Andre Drummond - C, DET @ CLE ($9,700)

We are almost halfway through the NBA season and this is the time where trends start to solidify. One trend has been consistent all year long: opposing centers absolutely dominate the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cleveland has allowed the most points in the paint, most second chance points, most points off turnovers, overall points, overall rebounds and assists to opposing centers this year. There are more stats to go off of, but you get the point. Drummond is one of the most elite centers in the game today. In his sole game against Cleveland this year, Drummond posted 17 points, 14 rebounds, five steals, four assists and four blocks in just 31 minutes. He is an elite center option and his price tag is too low for this match-up.
