BALLER MOVE: Add in 2QB Leagues
OWNED IN: 6% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: We can’t pretend Drew Lock is a fantasy darling, but in his four professional games as a starter so far he’s done enough to be considered a good second-fiddle and QB2 in such leagues. This past weekend he bounced back a bit and although he couldn’t reach 200 passing yards (he finished with 192), Lock completed 25 passes with a touchdown and no interceptions. This was the first game in which he wasn’t picked, and his second-best in completion percentage at a great 75.8%.
On the season, Lock is averaging 210 yards per game and completing 20.8 passes of 32 attempted per game. That amounts to a completion rate of 64.8% with an average YPA of 6.6 yards. His touchdown-to-interception ratio is good at 1.8, which means he’s throwing almost the double of touchdowns than interceptions. While Lock might not be Denver’s long term solution at the position, the rookie has done enough to at least enter next year as the 1A/1B option to get the starting nod depending on how he does against Brandon Allen in summer camps.
Denver faces an easy test to close out the season. The Raiders will visit the Broncos, and Oakland ranks 28th against the QB position in fantasy. Lock will get the final start of the year and should be good for at least 15-to-20 fantasy points if he keeps doing what he’s been able to in the last four weeks. Lock is nothing more than a QB2 and second-option in 2QB leagues, so pass on him if you happen to be in single-quarterback tournaments as there are probably better streaming options available.
