Analysis: After such a long recovery process, it is a good story to see Dylan Bundy thriving in the big leagues for the Baltimore Orioles.
In 65 IP this year he has a 3.05 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, is allowing just 2.5 BB/9, and producing a cool 9.0 K/9. The 23-year old former top prospect has made two starts in August - posting a 1.38 ERA, a crazy low 0.54 WHIP, and is allowing just 1.39 BB/9, and producing 11.1 K/9.
Bundy averaged just 4.67 innings per outing in his first three starts, so there were valid concerns about his durability and ability to go deep into games. However, he has in large part put those concerns to rest by averaging 6.5 innings per outing for his last two starts.
He is finally turning into the budding young star with ace potential that the Orioles hoped he could be one day. He has a bright future, but don't overlook what he's doing now. Pick him up off the waiver wire if he's still available. He can be a difference maker down the fantasy baseball home stretch.
