As of the time of this writing, both Eddie Lacy and Davante Adams are still listed as questionable for their Week 3 matchups with the Kansas City Chiefs. Both players sustained ankle injuries in Week 2 versus the Seahawks, and were forced to leave the game. Adams eventually returned on a limited basis, but Lacy remained out while James Starks handled lead-back duties.
Throughout this week, both Lacy and Adams have continued to show improvement and have been taking more reps in practice as the week has progressed. They are trending in the right direction, but still are not guaranteed to play this week. The big issue here for fantasy owners is that the Packers play on Monday night. If either player were to be held out of the game, owners may be left with a hole in their lineups.
If you are a Lacy owner, hopefully you also own Starks as a last minute plug-and-play replacement option. If not, and there is no confirmed news on Lacy's status before the 1 PM games, then owners may want to consider starting another running back option for their lineups and play it safe. There's nothing worse then getting a zero from one of your players.
It's expected that Adams will suit up, but in case he doesn't, Ty Montgomery would be a solid handcuff to add off the waiver wire as insurance. This would allow fantasy owners the flexibility to leave Adams in their lineups up until Monday night, and still have a viable replacement on their bench just in case. Stay tuned for more news over the next few hours on both players.
