ANALYSIS: Eddie Royal was effective during Week 1, hauling in four passes on six targets for 57 yards and a TD. He operated as the second receiver behind Alshon Jeffery. The Texans’ defense held tight end Zach Miller in check, and second year wideout Kevin White made a costly mistake leading to a third quarter interception— after which he was only targeted once. While it is likely White outperforms Royal for most of the season, he will need to do plenty of work to get to that point. As long as Royal is in this role, he will hold fantasy value given how frequently the Bears will need to pass this season.
