BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 22% of leagues
ANALYSIS: With eleven starts in eleven appearances, Erick Fedde might be poised to shed eligibility as a reliever, but with his biggest problem as a pitcher being solved this season, his name is officially on the radar. In 55.1 IP this year he has a 3.90 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 4.40 FIP, and four wins, again a measurable advancement from the previous season, which has been Fedde's pattern.
The key is in Fedde's new ability to control damage, as his 37.4% hard hit rate and 86.8 MPH average exit velocity are his best since his brief first season and are finally better than the MLB average, causing his HR rate to drop to a career-high 3%. He is also allowing fewer grounders and line drives, which together makes his .252 BABIP seem quite sustainable. Fedde has a well-rounded arsenal too. Of the four pitches he has utilized this season (fastball, cutter, changeup, slider), all four have positive pitch values. With his repertoire in sync and opponents' power-hitting in check, Erick Fedde is ready to contribute in moderately-sized leagues as a full-time rotation member.
