Evan Gattis (OF, HOU) - Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ team leagues

OWNED IN: 33% of Fleaflicker leagues

ANALYSIS: Evan Gattis started the year on the disabled list, recovering from a hernia. He was stashed by some on draft day, in hopes he would return to his 20+ HR form of the past three seasons. He made his season debut on April 12, but he has not looked like the same slugger since. The Astros even sent him down to Double-A to work on his catching. Defense aside, his .203/.257/.313 line this season may have had something to do with the move. Although his catcher eligibility is gone, he may see time behind the plate with Jason Castro struggling as well. Gattis' career-high 27 HR and 88 RBI with Houston last year made him a solid outfield option, but catcher eligibility would make him a big fantasy asset once again, even if he doesn't repeat those lofty numbers. Gattis only has one homer and seven RBI at this time, but he has steadily increased his power production each of the past three seasons. Count on him to straighten things out and provide the usual power, possibly at the catcher spot once again.
