Well, this slate is as big as it gets. The MLB playoffs are well underway.
To see who the best pitchers, stacks, and individual hitters for the day are, read on.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 10/7/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.
DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel
Texas Rangers
This is the obvious stack for tonight's four-game slate. The Texas Rangers get the easiest matchup, against J.A. Happ, and they are hitting in Texas, which is very hitter-friendly. Stack them in all formats.
Cleveland Indians
The Cleveland Indians get a tough matchup against David Price, but it is in Cleveland, which is very hitter-friendly. Price also tends to struggle away from home, so rather than picking on someone like Johnny Cueto, even though his price tag is low, pick on the Boston Red Sox.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel
Clayton Kershaw ($10,200)
Clayton Kershaw is the best pitcher baseball has seen in quite some time. His price tag is not the most expensive, and the Washington Nationals, despite being a great offensive team, are not one of the best on the board. Use Kershaw in all formats.
Johnny Cueto ($9,500)
Johnny Cueto gets a terrible matchup tonight against the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs are one of the best offensive teams in the league, but so are the rest of the teams in the playoffs right now. Cueto is a little bit cheaper than he should be, so take advantage of that.
DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel
Catcher (C) - Russell Martin ($2,500)
There are only so many catchers to choose from, and FanDuel decided not to add the Washington Nationals newest addition to their lineup. That leaves seven catchers to choose from. Martin is hitting in Texas, his price tag is low, and he has huge upside. Use him in tournaments.
First Base (1B) - David Ortiz ($4,000)
Forget about being fancy here. David Ortiz is one of the best hitters in the league, and this is his last season. He is going to shine all the way to the World Series, if the Boston Red Sox pitching comes through. Use him in all formats.
Second Base (2B) - Devon Travis ($3,000)
Devon Travis gets a tough matchup, like everyone else on the board, but his price tag is low and he tends to hit leadoff for the Toronto Blue Jays. As far as second base options go tonight, he is the best. Use him in all formats.
Shortstop (SS) - Elvis Andrus ($2,800)
Elvis Andrus is entirely too cheap on FanDuel. He has over 15 fantasy points in two of his last four starts, and the Texas Rangers get the easiest matchup of the night. Use him in all formats. His price on DraftKings is much higher.
Third Base (3B) - Kris Bryant ($3,700)
Kris Bryant gets a solid matchup against Johnny Cueto, and he should be able to at least pick up one hit. Cueto is known for getting into a groove, but more so in San Francisco. The Cubs are going to score runs. Every team in going to score runs tonight. Bryant could be the reason to Cubs are on the board.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel
Mookie Betts ($3,900)
Mookie Betts is the most expensive outfielder on the board, but for good reason. He is one of the league's very best. Even with a tough matchup against Corey Kluber, he should find himself on base more often than not.
Hunter Pence ($2,700)
In FanDuel's defense, Hunter Pence has not been performing at a very high level of recent, but his price tag is just too low. He has home run upside with additional stolen base upside, as well. The potential to crush value is there. Use him in tournaments.
