FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (10/9/16): MLB DFS Advice

Well, the postseason is looking bleak for a couple of teams. The even-season-magic doesn't look to be working for the San Francisco Giants.

Enough about that. Let's get down to some fantasy recommendations.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 10/9/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Cleveland Indians

The Cleveland Indians are a fantastic stack tonight in both 50/50 contests and tournaments. The Boston Red Sox are fighting for their postseason lives, but Clay Buchholz is not going to be able to stop the Tribe's offense. Josh Tomlin should be able to stifle the Red Sox enough to pick up the win.

Also Consider: Toronto Blue Jays vs Colby Lewis

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Rich Hill ($9,000)

The playoff teams remaining are very offensive. There is not a team left that does not have a powerful offense, so picking a starting pitcher for fantasy has relatively little to do with their matchup. Instead, simply just the most talented pitchers. Rich Hill had a fantastic season, sporting a 2.12 ERA, 12-5 record, and 129 strikeouts over an injury plagued 110.1 innings pitched. He is the safest option on the board.

Aaron Sanchez ($9,000)

Aaron Sanchez has been up and down this season, but his upside is huge. He currently has a 3.05 ERA, 15-2 record, and 161 strikeouts over 192 innings pitched. The Texas Rangers have been struggling, and heading into Toronto is not going to do them any favors. Sanchez may be expensive, but he is worth it.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C) - Jose Lobaton ($2,300)

The catchers on the board tonight are rather terrible. No one really hits the ball all that well. Russell Martin has a lot of power, but it is more beneficial to roster Jose Lobaton for his low price tag. He will allow for higher priced players at other positions.

First Base (1B) - David Ortiz ($4,300)

This could be David Ortiz's final game. He gets a semi-tough matchup, but so does the rest of the league. This is the playoffs. Ortiz will be doing all he can to play another home playoff game.

Second Base (2B) - Rougned Odor ($3,400)

Rougned Odor gets a very tough matchup tonight, but he has a lot of power. For a second base option, he is one of the most powerful in the league. During the regular season, stocking up on home run hitters is lazy. In the playoffs, it wins leagues.

Shortstop (SS) - Troy Tulowitzki ($2,900)

Troy Tulowitzki has been playing extremely well this postseason. He has over 25 fantasy points in two straight games now. Use him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments.

Third Base (3B) - Josh Donaldson ($3,900)

Josh Donaldson is one of the best hitters in the league. His price tag is high, but it is not too high to use him. He has 37 home runs and 99 RBIs on the season with a fantastic 122 runs. He also has a sneaky seven stolen bases. Use him in all formats.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Mookie Betts ($4,200)

Mookie Betts is one of the best outfielders in the league, and he should continue to play at a high level. The Boston Red Sox are finally traveling back to Boston, so scoring runs should be easy enough. Betts needs to get it going at the plate, if the Red Sox want to play another game.

Jayson Werth ($3,200)

Jayson Werth gets a very tough matchup tonight, but his price tag is low, and he is hitting third in the Washington Nationals' lineup. Do not use him in 50/50 contests, but his upside is tournaments is enough to warrant rostering him in a couple of lineups.
