There are a bunch of great matchups tonight for hitters.
Keep reading to find out who to stack, who to pitch, and a few value plays at each position.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/20/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.
DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel
Chicago Cubs
The Chicago Cubs get a great matchup tonight against the San Francisco Giants and Jake Peavy. For the better part of the season, Peavy has been horrendous, so feel free to attack him as much as possible tonight. The Cubs are the best hitting team in the league.
Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pittsburgh Pirates are facing off against the Colorado Rockies this series. Despite playing in Pittsburgh, the Pirates are still a great stack. The entire Rockies' pitching staff is pretty horrible, so use the Pirates this entire series.
Philadelphia Phillies
The Philadelphia Phillies face off against the Atlanta Braves tonight in what could be the battle of the two worst teams in the league. The Braves' pitching is horrible, and the Phillies' hitters are semi-cheap. Use them in tournaments.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel
Gerrit Cole
As previously mentioned, the Pittsburgh Pirates are playing against the Colorado Rockies in Pittsburgh. The Rockies do not hit the ball well away from home, and Gerrit Cole is one of the better pitchers in the league. Use him in 50/50 contests and tournaments.
Aaron Nola
Aaron Nola has been a bright spot for the Philadelphia Phillies' pitching staff, and the Atlanta Braves are horrendous at the plate. He should be able to at least hit value. More importantly, he should almost definitely pick up the win, which is worth quite a bit on FanDuel. Lean toward tournaments with him.
DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel
Catcher (C) - Miguel Montero
Miguel Montero is very cheap due to his struggles so far this season, but he is hitting in the middle of a very powerful offensive lineup, and he gets a great matchup against Jake Peavy. Use him in tournaments.
First Base (1B) - Byung Ho Park
Byung Ho Park is one of the most powerful hitters in the league, despite being so young. He does not hit for the greatest average, so do not use him in 50/50 contests. He is a tournament-style first baseman.
Second Base (2B) - Robinson Cano
Robinson Cano is hitting in one of the most hitter-friendly stadiums in the league tonight, and he should have a great series in Cincinnati. The Reds' pitching is terrible, and Cano has a ridiculous amount of power for a second baseman.
Shortstop (SS) - Zack Cozart
Zack Cozart is also hitting in one of the most hitter-friendly stadiums in the league tonight, and he also has a ridiculous amount of power for a middle infielder. He is essentially the poor man's Robinson Cano. Use him in tournaments, as he cooled off of recent.
Third Base (3B) - Jung Ho Kang
Jung Ho Kang makes for a great play in all formats. He has been sitting once every third game or so, so make sure he is in the lineup before rostering him. He has great upside, especially against a terrible Rockies' pitching staff.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel
Mike Trout
Tonight is not the night to get cheap in the outfield. Mike Trout gets a great matchup against the Baltimore Orioles, and he has great upside. Not only does he have the power to hit home runs, but he also has the speed to steal bases.
Dexter Fowler
Dexter Fowler is a very important part of the Chicago Cubs' lineup, and he should have plenty of RBI opportunities tonight. He is cheaper than some other outfield options that just do not have the same upside tonight that he does. Use him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments.
Andrew McCutchen
Andrew McCutchen gets a great matchup against the Colorado Rockies tonight, and he should be used in both 50/50 contests and tournaments. He started the season off slowly, but he is back to being one of the best hitters in the league.
