We have a 6 game slate tonight, and there are good options on the board. Stacking will be big tonight, so look for some value where you can, and then load up on the star skaters where you can afford them.
Vegas lines are big when it comes to picking games to target, and that's a good place to start for goalies. When it comes to skaters, goal totals is another main place to start. Usually 5.5 goals is average, so targets games at six, and can look for goalies in games with a total at five.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 1/16/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @DFS_Tom. Let's get to it, shall we?

DFS Forwards to Consider
Paul Stastny - C, STL @ TOR (DK - $5,500, FD - $5,500)
Stastny has been moved up to the first forward line from the second one, and his price has yet to be adjusted. We wanted to take advantage of it before his price increases, so buy in now while you can. He has five points in his last four games, and is taking about 2.5 shots per game. He is still on the first power-play unit, so plenty of chances for him to rack up points against a Toronto team who is giving up nearly three goals per game. You can pair him up with Tarasenko, since that stack is reasonably priced.
Jakub Voracek - W, PHI @ NYR (DK - $6,600, FD - $7,300)
Voracek is an assist machine, as he has 43 in 45 games this season. He is one of the more consistent options at winger, and should be viable for all formats tonight. Philly is in spot where they need to pick up some wins, and up against a Rangers team with a shaky defense, who takes too many penalties, he is in a good spot. Voracek is also on the top power-play unit, so that extra time on the ice, will only boost his upside.
DFS Defenders to Consider
Roman Josi - D, NSH vs VGK (DK - $6,100, FD - $5,700)
Anytime Josi is on the slate I try and get him into my lineups since he is so consistent, and can really fill up the stat sheet. He is taking over three shots per game, he is blocking over one shot per game and is out on the ice over 20 minutes a game. Josi is on the top defensive pairing and the top power-play unit, giving him plenty of exposure to the offense, along with upside on special teams.
Will Butcher - D, NJ @ NYI (DK - $3,600, FD - $4,100)
Butcher is a GPP option only tonight, as he is on the third defensive pairing, but the first power-play unit. He is cheap, and if you are looking to save some money on a stack, he is a good option. Butcher is up against the Islanders, who have given up the most goals in the league this season, so stacking against them is a good choice. He has three points in his last four games, and blocking about one shot per game. Should come in at lower ownership, which is always great in tournaments.
DFS Goalies to Consider
Henrik Lundqvist - G, NYR vs PHI (DK - $8,200, FD - $9,100)
Lundqvist is up against the Flyers, and in his career vs them, he has 34 wins in 54 careers games. The Metro division is a super close race this year, and every win is critical for these teams. Hank has two wins in his last two starts, and is one of the higher priced options at goalie tonight. He seems a bit too expensive, which means some DFS players might be afraid to play him, making him all the more interesting for tournaments. Not the best cash game option, but if you are rolling out several GPP lineups, he should be in a few of them.
