Wednesday brings Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final with Tampa Bay and Dallas tied at one win apiece. The Stars will be looking to rebound after losing Game 2 by a score of 3-2 to the Lightning on Monday. Puck drop will be right around 8:00 PM EST.
Remember, an over/under of 6 dictates offense when looking around for plays, but an over/under of 5 or sometimes 5.5 tilts towards the goalies. With only two teams remaining in the playoffs, there will be some tough DFS lineup choices to make for Game 3.
This article will provide you with my daily fantasy hockey lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel for September 23, 2020. The picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. For Wednesday, DraftKings and FanDuel will be offering Showdown contests only. Before picking for Showdown Captain Mode contests, it is important to note, the Captain in DraftKings and Fanduel is a crucial pick to add to a roster since the player you draft will earn 1.5x the standard fantasy point value for each statistic. DFS Forwards to Consider
#86 Nikita Kucherov - RW, TB vs. DAL (FD - $15,000, DK - $11,200)
Hard not to add Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov to DFS lineups as he has had a Conn Smythe worthy postseason in 2020. The Russian winger recorded two assists and fired six shots on goal in a Game 2 victory over Dallas. Kucherov has been a huge asset to his team as he leads the Stanley Cup Playoffs with 28 points in 21 games. If DFS contestants decide to add an expensive player, Kucherov is the man to build your lineup around.
#21 Brayden Point- C, TB vs. DAL (FD - $11,000, DK - $9,000)
Despite battling an undisclosed injury earlier in the playoffs, Tampa Bay's first line centerman Brayden Point has been excellent. Points plays in between wingers Nikita Kucherov and Ondrej Palat. These three forwards also play on the team's first power-play unit. After having a challenging first game in the series, Point was able to notch a power-play goal in Game 2. He is averaging 11.5 FFPG.
Others To Consider:
Jamie Benn has been held scoreless in the first two games of the final. The three previous matches, the former Kelowna Rocket, tallied three goals and added an assist. Look for Benn to bounce back in Game 3. He makes for a cheaper option for DraftKings players with a salary of $ 8,200.
Ondrej Palat may be an option as a flex roster spot for Showdown contestants. The Czech left winger scored a power-play goal in Game 2 against Dallas.
For DFS Showdown players, here are some players to consider, Tyler Seguin, Ondrej Palat, Joe Pavelski, Alexander Radulov Blake Coleman, Anthony Cirelli
DFS Defenders to Consider
#77 Victor Hedman - D, TB vs. DAL (FD - $12,000 DK - $9,400)
If you decide on a defenseman for a flex/utility spot for Showdown play, Tampa Bays Victor Hedman will fit well into DFS lineups. Hedman has been solid on the blueline throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the Lightning. In-Game 2 on Monday, Hedman had two helpers and three shots. Both assists came on Lighting power-plays. For DraftKings contestants, the Lightning defenseman is a bit of a bargain with a salary of $ 9,400.
Other choices for Tuesday Showdown may include Miro Heiskanen, John Klingberg, Kevin Shattenkirk, or Mikhail Sergachev.
DFS Goalie to Consider
#88 Andrei Vasilevskiy G, TB vs. DAL (DK- $10,200)
Remember, goalies can only be picked for DraftKings contests and not FanDuel. Taking two netminders is an option for DraftKings participants. If one decides to take just one goalie, Andrei Vasilevskiy could be a wise option. Vasilevskiy made 27 saves on 29 shots on Monday. He has a record of 15 wins, six losses, and a goals-against-average of 1.89 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
