FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (6/2/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

It’s the first Saturday in June and FanDuel brings us an eight game featured slate tonight. This slate has a pair of elite pitchers in tough matchups, some good pitchers in cake matchups, and another potential Coors Field slugfest.

Vegas projects a low scoring slate, as the 10.5 O/U in the Coors Field game is the only game above 8.5. CIN @ SD has an 8.5 O/U and every other game is at eight or lower. The Coors Field game should be a prime focus on this slate and bats from the Reds and Padres fit well too.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 6/2/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Zack Greinke - SP vs. MIA ($9,100)

Greinke is the third most expensive pitcher on this slate, but the two above him (Justin Verlander, Jacob deGrom) both face top-three offenses against right-handed pitching based on team wOBA. Greinke has a much softer matchup against the Miami Marlins, who have a .283 wOBA against right-handed pitching, the second lowest in baseball. Greinke is pitching just as well as we expect with a 3.65 ERA and 7.2 K/BB ratio on the year. Between the matchup and comparative price point Greinke is the top pitching option on the main slate.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Eric Hosmer – 1B vs. CIN ($3,500)

The Padres are taking on Reds’ righty Matt Harvey, who has allowed a .416 wOBA against left-handed hitters this season. This makes Eric Hosmer a natural choice against him, since Hosmer is the Padres’ best hitter and has a .380 wOBA against righties this season and .356 wOBA against them for his career.

DJ LeMahieu – 2B vs. LAD ($3,000)

Dodgers’ rookie Walker Buehler has been great since joining the rotation, but he hasn’t been tested like this. In his first seven starts Buehler has faced only one offense that grades as above average against right-handed pitching in wRC+, the San Francisco Giants who have a 103 wRC+. His 2.15 FIP is impressive, but this price is too good to pass up the Rockies’ leadoff hitter in Coors Field.

Eugenio Suarez – 3B @ SD ($3,700)

Suarez decided to double down on his breakout 2017 and has a .982 OPS and .293 ISO on the season. He is especially good against lefties, as Suarez is hitting .429 with a 1.763 OPS versus southpaws this year. The Padres’ are throwing out rookie left-hander Eric Lauer, who has gotten shelled in his first seven starts. Lauer has a 7.67 ERA and 1.84 HR/9 on the season and is allowing a .428 wOBA against right-handed hitters.

Chris Taylor – SS @ COL ($3,700)

Taylor is proving that his power breakout last season was legitimate with eight home runs and a .215 ISO through 249 plate appearances. He’s in a great spot against German Marquez, who has a 4.93 career ERA and 7.54 ERA this season at Coors Field. Taylor has the better matchup than his Colorado counterpart Trevor Story and offers a much cheaper price on this slate.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Yasiel Puig – OF @ COL ($3,100)

Yasiel Puig is an interesting play against German Marquez because both Puig and Marquez have displayed reverse splits throughout their careers. Puig has been better against right-handed pitchers with an .843 OPS and .363 wOBA against them all time. Marquez has been worse against right-handed hitters with an .846 OPS and .356 wOBA all time. It’s a perfect situation for Puig and he gets this matchup in the best hitter’s park in baseball.

Travis Jankowski – OF vs. CIN ($2,500)

Jankowski gives us a cheap lefty against Matt Harvey as the Padres’ leadoff hitter. Jankowski has a .382 OBP and is 8-for-10 on stolen bases this season. He has the opportunity to get on base and run wild in front of Eric Hosmer and the rest of the Padres. Reds’ catcher Tucker Barnhart has a 29% caught stealing rate this season, which is about league average. Jankowski is an above average baserunner and Barnhart shouldn’t pose enough of a threat to deter him from running.

Adam Duvall – OF @ SD ($2,900)

Duvall has the notorious distinction of having a higher ISO (.220) than batting average (.181). While that gives him a pretty low floor, he also has a high ceiling against Eric Lauer. Lauer has served up five homers and allowed a .578 SLG to right-handed hitters in 24.1 innings through seven starts. Duvall has displayed most of his power against lefties with a .261 ISO and five home runs in 45 plate appearances against left-handed pitchers this season. Yeah, he’s a one trick pony, but it’s a pretty good trick that could be on display against Lauer.
