FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (7/2/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

We have a nice nine game slate for this Monday evening. There are a number of good pitching options, highlighted by Max Scherzer and Corey Kluber. However, there are also a couple expensive stack options that figure to come through in a big way, with Cleveland and San Francisco leading the way. The Reds/White Sox game is another one I'd look to for a lot of run scoring, though that may come with lower ownership.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 7/2/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me up on Twitter @DanMarcus3.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Corey Kluber- SP @ KC ($11,200)

Kluber is the cash game choice on Monday’s slate thanks to his exceptional matchup against the Royals, who feature only three healthy bats with a wRC+ above 100 against right-handed pitching this season. The underlying skills skew heavily in Max Scherzer’s favor, making him a strong GPP option, but Kluber’s matchup gives him the advantage in cash games.

Brent Suter - SP vs. MIN ($7,200)

Suter has pitched very efficiently over his last three games, allowing him to rack up strikeouts despite having far from elite swing and miss stuff. That’s dangerous to rely on, but the matchup on Monday indicates that he’ll have a strong chance to keep his good run going. The Twins  struggle against left-handed starters, with Joe Mauer and Max Kepler the only regulars who have recorded over a 100 wRC+.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Jake Bauers -1B @MIA ($2600)

Bauers doesn’t benefit from a positive park shift but will have help with a matchup against Wei-Yin Chen. While he won’t have the platoon advantage either, Bauers has acquitted himself well against left-handed pitchers this season with four extra-base hits and a .448 on-base percentage in 25 at-bats against them this season. He’s not a cash game building block, but could be nice salary relief if needed and a low-owned option in GPP contests.

Also Consider/Cash Game: Edwin Encarnacion - 1B @ KAN ($4,000)

Yoan Moncada - 2B @ CIN ($3,100)

Moncada moves from one great hitting environment to another, as he goes from a weekend series in Texas to Great American Ballpark. While he failed to take advantage against the Rangers, he’ll have his first opportunity to redeem himself tonight against Luis Castillo, who has allowed 2.14 HR/9 to opposing left-handed batters this season.

Mike Moustakas - 3B vs. CLE ($3,000)

As already discussed, the Royals draw Corey Kluber tonight, so they certainly aren’t a team to stack or even consider for the most part in cash games. Mike Moustakas presents an exception to that, however, as he checks in at a very reasonable price tag and has shown signs of coming out his mid-season funk. While Kluber is one of the better pitchers on the slate (and in the league), he has allowed 1.56 HR/9 to left-handed batters this season.

Jose Peraza - SS vs. CWS ($3,100)

Peraza has fought his way back toward the top of the Reds lineup thanks to a .368 on-base percentage in June. While his power is still minimal, he has high run-scoring and stolen base upside, and has the benefit of a matchup against James Shields. With a game total at 9, the Reds should score plenty of runs, making it a good night to rely on Peraza.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Michael Brantley - OF  @ KC ($3,900)

Jakob Junis has been a launching board for home runs this season, which makes him a prime option to stack against on the slate. Brantley has hit like an elite hitter this season, but checks in cheaper than Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez, allowing a fit for another potential cash game building block.

Andrew McCutchen - OF @ COL ($4,200)

Like it’s 2013 all over again, McCutchen is a cash game building block on tonight’s slate. He draws a matchup against left-hander Kyle Freeland, who has allowed 1.61 HR/9 to right-handed hitters at Coors this season. While McCutchen has cooled a bit against lefties since the beginning of the season, he has shown the ability to punish them as he did last season to the tune of a .696 slugging percentage.

Also Consider: Charlie Culberson- OF @ NYY ($2,700), Brian Anderson - OF vs. TB ($3,000)
