FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (9/24/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Baseball season is winding down, but we're still here to help you churn out some cashing lineups. Though lineups and probable pitchers are a nightmare to follow at this stage, I will be targeting the Phillies-Rockies matchup at Coors Field tonight. While Coors isn't playing as the hitter's haven it has in the past, both pitchers slated to pitch have allowed over 1.5 HR/9 in the second half of the season.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 9/24/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me up on Twitter @DanMarcus3.

FanDuel DFS Pitcher

David Price - SP, vs. BAL ($9,400)

When he hasn’t been at Yankee Stadium, David Price has pitched very well this season. With a matchup at home against the woeful Orioles, he’s a viable cash game option. While the Orioles don’t strike out at an exceptionally high rate, they pack little punch as they have posted a .151 ISO in the second-half of the season. Meanwhile, Price has put up 40 or more FD points in seven of his last 10 starts.

Mike Montgomery - SP vs. PIT ($6,500)

Montgomery has flipped between being a reliever and starter, so the fact that he has completed six innings only once in his last five appearances shouldn’t be held against him. In fact, it’s exploitable, given his low price tag. In his last start -- which came six days ago -- he threw 94 pitches, meaning he is well prepared to throw deep into the game on Monday. At his price, he’s a steal and a lock for any type of contest.

Note: Cole Hamels has replaced Montgomery as Monday's starter. He's worthy of still rostering, and checks in $900 cheaper than David Price. Another option to consider is Derek Holland, who checks in at $8,200.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Ryan Zimmerman - 1B vs. MIA ($3,100)

Zimmerman has cooled off his since his tear in August, and while he’s shifted down to the sixth spot in the order, he is still battling behind a number of talented hitters. As a result, he’ll rack up chances to drive in runs, and that should be the case with Sandy Alcantara on the mound as he has just a 1.06 K/BB for the year.

DJ LeMahieu - 2B vs. PHI ($3,600)

LeMahieu hasn’t put up gaudy stats whether at home or on the road, but he still hits in the second slot of the Rockies’ lineup. He will draw a matchup against Zach Eflin, who has seen his results dip in the second half, with his HR/9 notably jumping 1.59/9. He’s struggled on the road all season, so investing in the top half of the Rockies’ lineup should work out tonight.

Jedd Gyorko - 3B vs. MIL ($2,700)

Gyorko has been reaching base at a strong rate of late, and benefited from the strong offensive performances of the Cardinals’ lineup lately. While Chase Anderson was originally slated for this game, the Brewers will pivot to a bullpen game on Monday so that specific matchups Gyorko will face are unclear. However, his price hasn’t risen with his production, offering value at 3B.

Trea Turner - SS vs. MIA ($3,800)

Turner and the Nats have an exploitable matchup on Monday (see Zimmerman for more on that) and he has been extremely aggressive on the basepaths. Across his last 10 games, he’s swiped five bags on six attempts. Add in six extra-base hits in that span, and it’s clear there is still uspide at his $3,800 price tag.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Jackie Bradley Jr. - OF vs. BAL ($2,600)

Bradley is my favorite value play on the slate. There hasn’t been enough attention on his second-half performance, which includes a 118 wRC+, .226 ISO, and .351 wOBA. Add in a matchup against Dylan Bundy, who has allowed 2.73 HR/9 in the second-half of the season, and Bradley is a player to build around on the slate.

Roman Quinn - OF @ COL ($3,200)

It’s a small-sample alert but Quinn has excelled against left-handed pitching throughout his major-league stints. In 53 at-bats against southpaws at the major-league level, Quinn has knocked eight extra-base hits. It’s reassuring that  his performance matches scouting reports from his time in the minor-leagues, which have always noted that he swings the bat better as a right-hander. Meanwhile, Tyler Anderson’s run has ended, as he’s allowed 2.30 HR/9 in the second half of the season.

Also Consider: Justin Upton - OF vs. TEX ($3,500)
