FanDuel Picks for Daily Fantasy Football Week 7: DFS Lineup Advice and Sleepers

The NFL continues to have surprises around each turn, as Devonta Freeman and DeAndre Hopkins are two of the safest and best overall players in the league this season. Every week there are a few stand-out players that need to be targeted in DFS.

In this article, my FanDuel DFS lineup targets, I will be headlining a few of my top plays on FanDuel for Week 7 of the daily fantasy football season.

These DFS lineup picks can range from the elite tier of players, to a few guys that I feel are a bit overpriced on FanDuel. Let's get to it!

FanDuel DFS Quarterbacks for Week 7

Cam Newton - QB, CAR (vs PHI, $8,100)

Newton has been one of the few bright spots in the Panthers offense this season. He has thrown for 1,078 yards and eight touchdowns in five games, but he has also added 225 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. His ability to run gives him a fairly high floor, and it also gives him great upside. The Eagles have really struggled against quarterbacks this season, and Newton’s legs will give the Eagles a new type of threat to worry about. The only concern is that the Panthers are lacking playmakers outside of Newton, but Greg Olsen should be a big enough presence to help Newton score a few times. He makes a great play in all leagues.

Landry Jones - QB, PIT (at KC, $6,000)

Jones has flashed a bit of upside this season and preseason, specifically in his last game. He took over for the injured Michael Vick, and threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns in roughly two quarters of play. That was against a tough Arizona defense, and he’ll get a much easier matchup against Kansas City this week. The Chiefs have one of the worst secondaries in the NFL, as they've allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks this season. Jones was set to be a first-round pick a few years ago before he opted to stay in college, which eventually led to him falling in the draft. That shows that he has the talent to handle an NFL offense, and his price tag is certainly more than affordable.

FanDuel DFS Running Backs for Week 7

Devonta Freeman - RB, ATL (at TEN, $8,700)

If you’re playing in cash games, enter Freeman into your lineup before anything else. Over his last four starts, Freeman has recorded 665 total yards and nine total touchdowns. He also has 25 receptions over that span. He’s finding the end zone at an extremely high rate, and he’s also touching the ball as much as any running back in the NFL. He’s an extremely safe option, and he gets a great matchup against the Titans, who have allowed 129.6 rush yards per game this season. That ranks 28th in the NFL, and Freeman will be their toughest test yet. He’s a great play in all leagues, especially given his reasonable price tag.

Lamar Miller - MIA, RB (vs HOU, $6,700)

Miller nearly scored as many fantasy points last week as he did in his other four games this season combined. That has to do with the new coaches, who look like they will be making it an emphasis to get Miller the ball. He’s coming off a game where he touched the ball 21 total times, recording 118 yards and a touchdown. He gets a matchup against the Texans, who have had an average run defense this season. Miller has flashed upside in the past, and he’ll be a fairly safe option if he continues to see 20+ touches per game.

FanDuel DFS Wide Receivers for Week 7

Larry Fitzgerald - WR, ARI (vs BAL, $7,800)

My favorite wide receiver option this week is DeAndre Hopkins, but I’m giving you a different option, as he is likely already in your lineups. Fitzgerald has been playing extremely well for the Cardinals, and he’s currently 16th in the NFL in targets. He has turned those 54 targets into 43 catches, 583 yards, and six touchdowns. The Ravens have been one of the worst defenses in the NFL against wide receivers, and Fitzgerald will likely be able to take advantage of that. His floor is right around 10 fantasy points, but his ceiling is over 30. He’s a low-risk, high-reward type player, and he makes a great option in all leagues this week.

Chris Hogan - WR, BUF (at JAC, $5,100)

If you’re playing the early morning slate on Sunday, which includes the game from London, Chris Hogan makes a great option. He’s extremely cheap at only $5.1K, and he should be targeted heavily, as he will arguably be the Bills top wide receiver. Sammy Watkins and Percy Harvin are shaping up to be out this week if not longer, which would move Robert Woods and Hogan into the number one and two roles. Hogan is a decent touchdown threat, as he has caught two of them in limited snaps this season. The Jaguars have a below-average secondary, making Hogan is another low-risk, high-reward type of player.

FanDuel DFS Tight Ends for Week 7

Antonio Gates - TE, SD (vs OAK, $5,800)

At this point in the season, the starting tight end against the Raiders is the best option, regardless of his talent. Gates happens to be one of the most talented tight ends in the league, however, and he will draw the cupcake matchup this week. Since his return from suspension, Gates has caught 18 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns in only two games. He’s getting a ton of targets throughout the game, and he’s one of the Chargers top red zone options. The Raiders have been dominated by Tyler Eifert, Crockett Gillmore, Gary Barnidge, and Martellus Bennett this season, and Gates may be the most talented of that group. He’s a great play in all leagues this week.

Charles Clay - TE, BUF (at JAC, $5,500)

Clay is another player from the early morning game on Sunday, and he’s another great option. He’s getting a lot of targets already, but he should see a few extra with Watkins and Harvin both doubtful to play. Clay has scored 10 or more fantasy points in three of his last four games, and he gets a plus matchup against the Jaguars this week. He may not be the safest option on the board, but he’s a great GPP play this week.
