RotoBaller Farm Report for 4/29/2013

• Jesse Biddle (LHP, PHI) followed up his exceptional outing on 4/22 with another gem on Sunday, striking out 10 and allowing one hit over six shutout innings for AA Reading. Outside of a poor first outing to his season, Biddle has allowed one run or fewer in every start. He's compiled 40 strikeouts and only allowed 11 hits over 31 innings. Biddle should be the next call-up when the Phillies need a starter. Grab him now before everyone in your league knows his name, as he projects to be a quality middle-of-the-rotation starter right out of the gate, with the potential to grow into a solid #2, depending on how his secondary pitches develop.  Bid with confidence for 2013 and beyond.
• Yasiel Puig (OF, LAD) was arrested Sunday and charged with speeding, reckless driving and driving without proof of insurance, according to Hamilton County's Sheriff's Office in Chattanooga, Tenn. He is hitting .333 with three homers and nine RBIs in 13 games.  Puig signed a monster 7-year deal in the offseason worth over $40M, so you know the Dodgers' front office wants to get him up with the big-league club, but offseason elbow surgery slowed his development some.  With this additional wrinkle, you can be sure that Puig will not have the immediate fantasy impact that Cuban brethren Yoenis Cespedes and Aroldis Chapman have had.  That said, Puig is still definitely worth a roster spot in just about any keeper format.
• Nick Kingham (PIT) struck out a career-high 13 batters on Saturday, allowing only three hits over six scoreless for Bradenton. Kingham lowered his ERA to 3.04 and has 33 strikeouts against four walks over 26 2/3 innings. The Pirates' #13 prospect is a hard thrower, but was instructed to throw more changeups. Although he is clearly behind Gerrit Cole and Jameson Tallion on the organizational depth chart, but as more of a control-type pitcher, he has the potential to show the requisite polish a little earlier than some of the harder throwers in the Pittsburgh system.  It's not inconceivable that he could break into the big leagues at the end of next season in some capacity or another; monitor his status closely going forward.
