Daily Fantasy Leagues - FanDuel Lineup Picks (7/8)
P: Julio Teheran ($9,300): Teheran gets his second consecutive start against the Mets. In his outing last week, he went seven innings and struck out five on his way to the win. Over his last four starts, he is averaging 15.25 fantasy points, and he's gone at least six innings in every start since May 14th. He should be in play in all game types tonight as the top pitcher on the board.
C: Jarrod Saltalamacchia ($3,000): I continue to ride the Salty train, as he has hit well since his return from injury, with hits in seven of his last nine games, including a nice three-run bomb on Sunday. Tonight he faces Vidal Nuno in his Arizona debut. Generally, the Marlins are a stay-away on the road, but tonight I am looking to stack them against a newly minted NL pitcher with a 5.42 ERA.
1B: Billy Butler ($2,500): This will certainly be a contrarian play today as Butler has been pretty bad of late. Before a two-hit outing on Saturday, he had gone just 1-for-22 over five games. Because of that poor performance, Butler's price has dropped to a very low level, and tonight he faces Hellickson against whom he has nine hits in 14 tries for his career. Assuming he is in the lineup, Butler should be a great play tonight.
2B: Jose Altuve ($4,200): The All Star Altuve has had a phenomenal fantasy season. He not only leads the AL in batting average, but also has 38 stolen bases. Those are both in line to go up tonight against Phil Irwin who got lit up in his first start of the season on April 14th. A few hits and multiple steals are certainly in play for the Astros dynamo.
SS: Ian Desmond ($3,400): Hanley Ramirez and Troy Tulowitzki are typically the top plays of the day, but if you are looking to save a few dollars then Desmond should be your choice. He has multiple hits in four his last six games, including three extra-base hits. Bud Norris is making his return from the disabled list tonight so he should be a bit rusty; look for the Nats shortstop to take advantage.
3B: Lonnie Chisenhall ($3,500): Like Butler, Chisenhall will have a low ownership percentage due to his matchup against Tanaka. The good news is that strikeouts don't hurt you more than a normal out in the FanDuel game, and Chisenhall has hit right-handed pitching very well this season. With 30 extra-base hits already this year, he has shown the potential for big nights that can take you right to the top of any GPP.
OF: Ryan Braun ($4,900): Braun has been hot recently, hitting .317 with eight runs and 10 RBI over his last few weeks. Along with that, he has great BvP stats against Kyle Kendrick, going 9-for-19 with two homers and seven RBI for his career. Even with an aggressive price tag, Braun should be able to match value tonight with a nice game.
