Fantasy Basketball All-Star Starters: Eastern Conference

In light of the NBA All-Star game Starters being named we are going to look at the NBA Fantasy Basketball Starters from each conference. Today we are focusing on the Eastern Conference starters.

The real life NBA Eastern Conference All-Stars are Kyrie Irving, DeMar DeRozan, LeBron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Joel Embiid. Are they also fantasy All-Star starters?

Players have been selected based on their fantasy output and by the same position selection of two guard spots and three forwards. Just to note, these starters are selected solely on what they have accomplished so far this season and does not necessarily reflect their rest-of-season outlook.

Editor's Note: Our incredible team of writers received five total writing awards and 13 award nominations by the Fantasy Sports Writers Association, tops in the industry! Congrats to all the award winners and nominees including NBA Writer of the Year, Best NFL Series, MLB Series, PGA Writer and Player Notes writer of the year. Be sure to follow their analysis, rankings and advice all year long, and win big with RotoBaller! Read More!

Eastern Conference Fantasy All-Star Starters

Guards

Kyrie Irving24.1 PTS, 3.6 REB, 5.0 AST, 1.2 STL, 2.6 3PM and 2.4 TO

The Boston Celtics point guard wanted to be the main man on a team and with the off-season trade to Boston, he was given the opportunity. He has stepped it up and has not disappointed in this role steering the ship for the youthful Celtics. Owners should be happy if they grabbed him late in the first round and even happier if they snagged him in the second round. Irving has been as consistent as they come and owners knew what they were getting when drafting him. Irving does a bit of everything and with his above average percentages of 47.3 FG%, 39.0 3FG%, 88.9 FT% and elite 2.4 TO from the point guard spot makes Irving an elite fantasy asset this season so far.

Victor Oladipo24.3 PTS, 4.0 AST, 5.3 REB, 1.9 STL, 0.9 BLK and 2.5 3PM

Indiana Pacers guard has more than quieted his critics this season while putting up insanely productive numbers thus far. With this, Oladipo beats out DeMar DeRozan as fantasies second backcourt spot for the East. Oladipo is stuffing the stat sheet on a nightly basis and for any owner who drafted him have gotten the steal of the draft. Oladipo is putting up career highs across the board (except for assists, he averaged 4.1 in his first two seasons). With these monstrous stats, Oladipo is putting up late first round to early second round numbers. Oladipo has cemented himself as fantasy stud for years to come. The future looks bright in Pacer land.

Forwards

LeBron James26.8 PTS, 7.8 REB, 8.7 AST, 1.7 STL, 1.1 BLK and 1.8 3PM

The Cleveland Cavaliers forward is a no brainier this season to lead the East starters not only in the real game but in fantasy as well. In past seasons, this has not always been the case for James on the fantasy side of things. Most likely you got James in the bottom half of the first round and he has outperformed his ADP by a long shot. This season James has elevated his game statistically on both ends of the court. Just when we all thought we had seen it all out of James he has elevated his games to put up career highs for assists (8.8), 3-pointers made (1.8) and has tied his career high for blocks (1.1). James hasn't let age slow him down one bit while he has been putting up a career season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo28.2 PTS, 10.1 REB, 4.6 AST, 1.5 STL, 1.3 BLK and 0.5 3PM

The Milwaukee Bucks forward (although he logs minutes at pretty much all positions), has elevated his game to another level this season. If you took The Greek Freak with the first pick in the draft, he has not disappointed. With career highs in points (28.2), rebounds (10.1) and FG% (54.6), he is delivering as a top 5 player on the season and we have to remember he just turned 23 last month! Not only is he putting up elite offensive numbers but at the defensive end his combination of steals (1.5) and blocks (1.3) puts him in an elite class. There isn’t anyone in the fantasy game that brings more to the table then what Antetokounmpo brings and if you drafted him this season your team should make a solid playoff run.

Kristaps Porzingis23.5 PTS, 6.8 REB, 1.2 AST, 0.8 STL, 2.4 BLK and 1.8 3PM

The New York Knicks power forward/center has stepped up massively this year with the departure of the high usage, Carmelo Anthony. With this, Porzingis has made the final forward spot in the East on our squad. Porzingis has the elite abilities to knock it down from deep (1.8 per game) and is able to lead the league in blocks (2.4 per game). We all know the value of blocks in fantasy, especially this season. We are seeing a not so great 43.4 FG% but this is due to the Unicorn taking on a much higher work load as a go to man in the Big Apple. Many owners trusted Porzingis with their second pick and he has not let them down this season!
