Fantasy Basketball - Dynasty Rundown for Week 4

Welcome to RotoBaller's weekly dynasty league rundown! Dynasty leagues are becoming more and more popular, and we're here to keep you ahead of the game.

Each week, we'll touch on topics and players that may not necessarily be relevant in single-year formats, but they can make a splash in keeper leagues.

With that being said, let's look at the dynasty rundown for Week 4.

Guards

Darius Garland, Cleveland Cavaliers

The fifth overall pick in this year's draft had his best two games of his career over the weekend. He had 15 points and six assists Friday night and 12 points with six dimes Sunday. Garland has struggled out of the gates of his career shooting just 33 percent from the floor and 26.7 percent from distance. Garland is likely owned in most dynasty formats. If he's on your squad, pay attention to how he responds to these two performances because that shooting percentage has to improve for him to be viable in fantasy.

Anfernee Simons, Portland Trail Blazers

The second-year man has quietly scored in double figures in five straight games. Simons has been running as the third guard with Rodney Hood (back) out. In the two games since Hood's injury, Simons averaged 17.5 points, 3.5 boards, two dimes and a steal per game in 30 minutes per game. He's also shooting 40.5 percent from three-point land. Simons has some upside right now, but he has also emerged in long-term formats at just 20 years old.

Dennis Smith Jr., New York Knicks

The ninth pick in the 2017 NBA draft was back with the team Tuesday after a lengthy absence due to a death in the family. Smith has some ground to make up. However, guard Frank Ntilikina, who was the unpopular pick of the Knicks one selection before Smith, has done very little in Smith's stead. Smith averaged 13.6 points, 4.8 assists, 2.9 boards and 1.3 steals per game in 53 games between the Knicks and Dallas Mavericks last season. He still has a decent ceiling, and he may have been forgotten about or dropped while he was away.

Kenrich Williams, New Orleans Pelicans

Williams has filled in nicely for point guard Lonzo Ball (hip) over the last two games. He had 15 points, five boards, three assists and two steals in 28 minutes Saturday. He struggled from the field Monday, but he still delivered eight points and 11 rebounds in 38 minutes. His short-term upside is limited because Ball is expected back within the next two games, but Williams has shown a good stat-stuffing game. He could remain effective in limited minutes and earn a larger share as the season progresses. Keep him on the watch list.

Forwards

Chris Boucher, Toronto Raptors

Boucher had a career game Sunday with 15 points and three blocks in 24 minutes. He followed it up the next night with 13 points, six boards and two blocks in 22 minutes. Boucher is the elder statesman of the list at 26 years old, but he's going to see the most extensive action of his career with forward Serge Ibaka (ankle) out indefinitely. Boucher has some sizzle in single-year formats right now, which means he needs to be secured in dynasty formats if he's still available.

Robert Williams, Boston Celtics

Williams opened eyes Saturday. His 11 points and seven boards in 22 minutes were nice. However, it's the six blocks that turned heads. With guard/forward Gordon Hayward (hand) out an extended period with a broken hand, Williams will beef up the front line more often. He has blocked a shot in each game but one, and he has the propensity to contribute in three categories. He's also shooting 77.8 percent from the floor, which will be a bonus in head-to-head formats. His time to shine is coming.

Centers

Tony Bradley, Utah Jazz

The center position is pretty thin with the state of the game featuring small lineups a lot. Bradley, a true center, may not pay immediate dividends, but he has started to show something in limited time. He's averaging 6.8 points, 5.8 boards, 0.5 blocks and 0.5 steals in around 13 minutes per game the last four games. The third-year pro has not played much in his career. In fact, he's about to match his total minutes played before this season in the next game. If you're in a full dynasty league, Bradley is someone to consider deep on the bench for future development.
