Fantasy Basketball Free Agent Adds for Deep Leagues - Mike Dunleavy

This is the inaugural edition of The Deep Leaguer with RotoBaller Max Loudermilch. When you're in too deep, look no further! Each week, we will give you the low-down on 1-2 hot NBA free agents for deep fantasy basketball leagues.

NBA Waiver Wire Pickups for Deep Fantasy Basketball Leagues

Rotoballer-NBA-News-Fantasy-Basketball-Advice-Analysis-Mike-DunleavyBulls small forward Mike Dunleavy (SG/SF) is the man of the week after “winning” the start (Cheerio, Deng!). The son of the former  L.A. Clippers coach has suddenly become fantasy relevant. There's a lot of upside here. He's had monster games of 20+ points with plenty of boards, assists, and threes. In games where he's played over 40 minutes, the big man has averaged an impressive 19.5 PPG. If he plays anywhere near that number, Mike Dunleavy should tear it up both inside and outside the paint.

The 6'9, 230-pounder has attracted looks all season, yet nobody wanted him. So why wasn't he been picked up more? For starters, the guy is a tad streaky. He'll go from a paltry 3 points and 4 rebounds to a double-digit game with a nice box score. In Leavy's defense, his poor performance tends to occur under serious time constraints. However, that is now someone else's problem. Those in even deeper leagues will want to consider Tony Snell as well.

The only real concern is whether Chicago's New Deal includes a one way ticket to another franchise. The theory goes that the Bulls want fresh meat, so Leavy's veteran status might place him on the chopping block.

Right now, Dunleavy is owned by just 28% of Yahoo leagues, so head to your waiver wire and add him immediately, if not sooner!

In other news, Gerald Green (SG/SF) will start in place of the injured Eric Bledsoe. Bledsoe's right knee is projected to keep him out for 6-8 weeks. The Suns don't know if that's a worst-case scenario, so you should just assume that Green will get plenty of time at guard. While there are certainly going to be growing pains, he's guaranteed to contribute a respectable amount of points and threes. You might want to grab him now, because Green is going to see his ownership increase quickly in the coming weeks.
