Fantasy Fallers: Allen Hurns, Dexter McCluster and Nick Foles

This should not come as much of a surprise to anyone who has been following Rotoballer this week, but the Jacksonville Jaguars have officially ruled out wide receiver Allen Hurns for Week 13 against the Tennessee Titans.

Hurns absence will mean an increase in targets for Allen Robinson and tight end Julius Thomas. Thomas is TE1 against the Titans and Robinson should be slotted in as a must-start WR1.

Marqise Lee will likely get the start in place of Hurns, but he shouldn’t be considered anything better than a WR4 this week. If he has a big game, the team may be forced to use him more frequently in down the line, but we have no reason to believe that he’ll actually take advantage of this opportunity and shine.

Hurns has really come on strong this season and has earned himself a starting spot with the Jaguars going forward. Through 11 games he has 48 receptions for 758 yards and seven touchdowns.

Tennessee Titans running back Dexter McCluster has also been ruled out for his team’s Week 13 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. McCluster suffered a sprained MCL in Week 11 and isn’t quite ready to get back onto the football field.

Before his injury McCluster had established himself as the most consistent running back on the Titans team. In his absence Antonio Andrews and David Cobb will likely share carries.

Andrews can be considered a RB3 for Week 13, while Cobb is not on the fantasy radar at all.

McCluster has averaged 4.6 yards per carry thus far this season. He has 51 carries and 235 yards and a touchdown on the ground. But McCluster’s real value is seen in the receiving game where he has 27 receptions for 222 yards and an additional touchdown.

St. Louis Rams quarterback Nick Foles will remain the teams starter for Week 13. This isn’t because he has won the job, rather it’s due to Case Keenum remaining in the leagues concussion protocol.

I would not under any circumstances start Foles this week against the tough Arizona Cardinals defense. He clearly doesn’t have the support of his coaching staff and even when they did support him earlier in the season, he struggled to move the football.

If you must start a Rams player this week, running back Todd Gurley is the only safe bet. You could make an argument for starting receiver Tavon Austin, but I’d consider him a WR3 at best against the tough Cardinals.
