Buy-Low Running Backs for Week Seven
Chris Johnson - Tennessee Titans
As we have stated, CJ2K is anything but a 2K potential rusher. It’s only been done seven times ever, and only three times this decade. Johnson has struggled mightily at times, including 50 total rushing yards over his the past two games. Johnson is also in a similar situation as Trent Richardson below. He faced Kansas City and Seattle in his past two games, and then he gets another tough defense in San Francisco, followed by the bye week. After that, it’s smooth sailing, with road games against the Rams, Oakland and Indianapolis, and home games against Jacksonville and Indianapolis over the following five-week span.
Trent Richardson - Indianapolis Colts
His stock has hit an ALL-TIME low, and now is the best time to snag him. Richardson has struggled with the Colts through four games, over which he has 61 carries for 191 yards (3.1 YPC) and two TDs. Of those four games, three were on the road, three were out west and three of those opponents are ticketed for the playoffs-- not exactly an easy stretch of matchups. Next up for the Colts is hosting the red-hot Denver Broncos, followed by a bye week. Owners are headed for a rough two weeks of Richardson with few points up for grabs. But after the bye week, the schedule is as follows: @ HOU, vs. STL, @ TEN. The bye week should provide Richardson enough time to recuperate from his first time being traded and then getting thrown to the wolves against some tough opponents. Following that bye week, we should see a more consistent Richardson. Buy him now.
Maurice Jones-Drew - Jacksonville Jaguars
Mo-Jo has been solid as of late, racking up 141 yards in the past two games. If you can get Mo-Jo on the cheap, he will pay off come playoff time in your fantasy league. Weeks 10-14: @ TEN, vs. ARI. @HOU, @CLE, vs. HOU. Favorable for Mo-Jo, though perhaps not the Jaguars as a team.
Lamar Miller - Miami Dolphins
Coming off a bye, there is a lot to gain from making the move to obtain Miller. For one thing, the list of tougher matchups that the Dolphins will face is a shorter than the list of favorable ones. Miller is a must-start each week, and you no longer need to worry about his bye week.
