What's up guys. Welcome to the 8/24 live Q&A chat. Let's get some questions going, I'm here to help you prep for your fantasy football drafts.

greg olsen or martavis bryant?

@Priscilla, Martavis. Ride that upside.

You can find another TE later.

would u trade davante adams(wr4/5) and chris ivory(rb3) for jeremy hill?

@Dexter, yes.

who should i draft at 10/11 in a 10 person league?

@Loan, at those picks your best options are likely going to be WRs, but in such a small league it's a lot better to reach for at least one RB there. If DeMarco Murray falls to you he's one you should take, otherwise i'd stick with a "safe" pick like Jeremy Hill.

m bryant or travis kelce

@Priscilla, I'd probably go with Kelce but that's just me.

is hill a good rb1 for a 10 team standard?

@Irma, he's alright. Has the chance to be in the top 5 bcause of how good the Bengals offense should be + the offensive line his team has.

21:02Wisco

Reggie Wayne? Thoughts

@Wisco, Talked at length about a month ago with another regular user that Wayne's best potential landing spot was NE. No other team ran an offense that he could work in so well at his age. I don't think he's worth drafting, but i think he has to be intently watched.

Davante Adams or Jeff Janis benefit from Jordy going down?

@Tasha, Adams does. Richard Rodgers does. Jeff Janis almost definitely doesn't.

shane vereen or rashad jennings in ppr?

@Priscilla, Vereen for me.

Giants are still talking about giving him actual carries and more news is coming out that Jennings might be splitting with him.

richard rodgers or zach ertz

@Irma, hype vs hype. In a vacuum, Ertz because he's starting. But Rodgers should come way cheaper. Personally, i'd go for Tyler Eifert over either.

21:07Wisco

Think Reggie Wayne will outperform Pierre Garcon....He is my on my bench for WR and that's it

@Wisco, i'd rather hold Garcon for now until i see what Wayne can do. At least the Redskins have been talking about getting him back into the offense all offseason.

21:08Wisco

Yea I have 2 defenses because I lost internet connection. Was gonna drop one

@Wisco, that's what you should do, yeah.

john brown or kendall wright?

@priscilla, Brown. Better QB on a team that should score more.

kyle rudolph of Austin Seferias-Jenkins?

n

@edith, Rudolph for me. Bridgewater has had no issue finding him all preseason as he goes through his reads. Rookie QBs also rarely produce good TEs.

biggest sleeper this year?

@Priscilla, my man Eifert's going to blow up if he's healthy all year. Matt Jones should be a surprise FLEX RB, if not RB2 by the end of the year.

Advertising

Thoughts on C.J. Spiller this season?

@Edith, i like CJ a lot in NO but unfortunately he's injured and not practicing until week 1 most likely. That's not good for his early season start and gives Ingram the opportunity to grab the job and hold it full time. I love Spiller as a player, but that's a hard risk to take at his price.

john brown or danny woodhead or breshad perriman

@Pricsilla, Brown.

Also wondering if Jonas Gray might eventually take over as the NE starter

@Edith, doubtful. He had one big game and the Patriots haven't shown any real commitment to him. Brandon Bolden's had a few big games before too in 2012 and no one wondered if he was gonna take over.

or maybe that was 2013.

edward like antonio brown as #6 pick in 12 man standard if Marshawn Lynch doesn't drop there? Or someone else?

I don't hate picking antonio at 6 in standard, but honestly i go with my heart and my heart says Dez Bryant.

I can't blame anyone for picking Brown over Dez though, it's a perfectly reasonable choice.

Hi Ed -- which side do you like most in non-ppr:  Brandin Cooks /Victor Cruz for Rob Gronkowski / Shane Vereen?

@Isabell, Gronk/Vereen

what about DeMarco Murray, he will likely be there?

@Patricia, hate Murray that high. Way better options imo.

Am I good on T.J. Yeldon, Danny Woodhead, Knile Davis, and Todd Gurley as my RBs in a PPR 2 RB 2 WR TE 2 Flex with Antonio Brown, Davante Adams, Emmanuel Sanders, Stevie Johnson, and Jeff Janis? Also have Aaron Rodgers as a QB Small bench and no kickers or def?

@Eloise. Oof, no way Eloise. That's weak. You're going to get by week 1 on Yeldon/Woodhead maybe but you're in deep need for help.

deandre hopkins or amari cooper

@Irma, that's actually really tough. I'm going with Hopkins, but be warned he's probably going to start the year slow while Hoyer's starting because Hoyer's awful.

woodhead or alfred blue

@Priscilla, if you need a starting RB early on, Blue. If you just want a bench compliment, Woodhead.

Thinking maybe Brown or Dez, then see if one of the better RBs drop to #19 Round 2, If not then try for Justin Forsett Round 2 and Lamar Miller Round 3

@Patricia, i'd be into that plan.

i have miller, legarrette blount, vereen

so idk if i should go blue or woodhead

Go Woodhead

And then best available starting in Round 4, but looking at Cooks, Jimmy Graham and jordan Matthews if there

@Patricia, i have Jordan matthews as like a low 2nd rounder, so if he's there that's my guy.

Given the updated news on Arian Foster, what Round would you be willing to spend a pick on him?

Think i've got him in my current list as about an 8th rounder.

and Gurley?

@patricia, Gurley's likely a 6th. A lot more optimistic about his return and production.

or Ameer Abdullah

@patricia, and Abdullah is like a mid 4th for me. Really high on him. Have been since the draft.

keenan allen, jarvis landry, or brandon marshall in a 12 team standard?

@Marc, Brandon Marshall. Marshall's had two years in his career with less than 1k, his rookie year and last year. He's had 1200 yards with Matt Moore and Kyle Orton. He's been a WR1 multiple times with horrible QBing.

thoughts on c.j. anderson?

@Brandy, whoever starts in DEN is a RB1, guessing who's starting is the hard part. I don't bother with CJA until there's actual word from the coaches that he's the definite starter.

rate my team in 1 point ppr. QB: Tom Brady, Carson Palmer. WR: Amari Cooper, Odell Beckham Jr, Alshon Jeffery, Julio Jones, Charles Johnson. RB: Joseph Randle, C.J. Spiller, Blount, Foster, Blue. TE: Antonio Gates, Owen Daniels. Cody Parkey. Defense. NYJ

@Mauricio, Need help at RB badly. Early season is gonna hurt but your WRs have a high TD potential on the weekly.

who do you think is the favorite to start in denver

@Brandy, SHOULD be CJA, but Kubiak's talked up Ronnie Hillman and Juwan Thompson.

in a 10 team ppr, would you suggest drafting best available each round as opposed to strategically drafting? As in like RB, WR, WR, RB, etc etc

@Breezy, i would never advocate against anything else. The only change is that a RB should be picked up in the first two rounds just because it's way too easy to get good WRs in a 10 man.

Which rookie RB to draft in a Dynasty League? Who will be the beast in the long run?

@Pearlie, Gurley is the top in terms of talent. Abdullah has the chance to put up ridiculous numbers due to volume of receiving+catching. There's a top 24 rookie ranking for dynasty on the site that I did, check it out sometime if you haven't: http://dev.rotoballer.com/2015-nfl-rookie-rankings-fantasy-football-dynasty-keeper-rookies/272822

will giovani bernard take a lot away from hill this year? will hill be top 10 RB this year?

@irma, Hill should be a top 10 RB. anything Gio takes is just basic change of pace touches + catches, but there's talk of Hill getting catching work too.

Ed what are your thoughts on Matt jones?

@Jodi, i've talked up Matt Jones since he was drafted too. Gameflow should put the Redskins behind a lot and he's the pass catching back. He can also run really, really well. Redskins are already talking about having him take carries from Alfred Morris. Really high on his chances to be startable this year.

If LeSean McCoy were to drop to #19 pick would you take him or pass to grab A.J. Green or Randall Cobb in standard?

@Patricia, I have McCoy ranked at 25, so no.

drafting bpa always leads me to not pick enough rbs

@Brandy, gotta know when to BPA and how. Always helps to find a way to exploit other teams draft choices by starting runs on positions.

oh. So, grab a RB in rounds 1 and 2, then from there grab best avail?

@Breeze, not in both rounds, just one in the first two rounds.

It would be an unorthodox start in standard to start w/ DEZ and Green but an intriguing way to go, yes?

@Patricia, yeah. I'd be okay with it though. Two top 8 WRs both with top 3 potential.

Ed is it to early to pick up jones?

@Jodi, no it isn't. I've been advocating owning him since before he touched the ball.

Why do my running backs stink in 1 point ppr in 10 team. Blount, Blue, Foster, Randle, Spiller

@Mauricio, so the problem you've got is that no one you own has a hold on the starting job.

Blount is in the NE system where he can be switched at random, but he's got the safest spot there.

Blue's only starting until foster's back, and there's a chance Blue loses the job to Chris Polk still.

Randle's only value is because of how good the OL is but that holds true for every RB on Dallas, and they still want to get Darren McFadden on the field for some reason i don't understand since they keep talking about him.

Spiller's currently injured and missing practice time which is really bad since he's competing with Mark Ingram for touches.

That group just has a lot of risk associated with it.

OK, so are you saying to grab a RB within the first 2 rounds, or grab a RB in rounds 1 and 2?

@breeze, Grab one RB within the first two rounds is what i'm saying.

Ed is Reggie Wayne worth stashing?

@Jodi, only if you're desperate. I believe the NE system is the best place for Wayne especially since he can still be a short yardage receiver, but until they put him out there and we see how he does who knows if they'll even use him at all.

are my WRs good in 1 point ppr: OBJ, jones, cooper, jeffery, charles johnson

@Mauricio, yeah, your WRs are going to carry you early on. OBJ/Jones/Jeffery are huge TD potentials every week.

hill or anderson

@Irma, Hill for now. Fumbling in preseason is whatever to me. Hill is the perfect back for Jackson's power scheme. Bernard isn't.

what do you think of owen daniels and gates as my tes in 10 team 1 point ppr

@Mauricio, Also kinda whatever. Daniels hold on the job is questionable but neither of them have the kind of upside that other guys like Rudolph or Eifert have, not in my eyes at least.

Ed what you think about hillman? I heard he's gonna backup up Cj and not montee ball

@Jodi, I don't think hillman's going to do anything if he's the backup. Kubiak's backups don't do anything unless the starters hurt.

cody latimer or rueben randle ppr?

@Priscilla, Latimore? who?

from Denver

Oh, Cody Latimer, right. Grab Randle imo. Kinda doubting Peyton's ability to feed so many guys.

Ed what did you think of polks performance on Sunday?

@Jodi, missed it. Gonna check it out later this week.

what do you think of benjamin watson

@mauricio, doubt he has any real value honestly. He's the starter but he's 35. The Saints aren't going to make a 35 year old jimmy graham.

He's a flyer.

Last Should I pick up Tevin Coleman and Drop David Cobb?????

@Socorro, I'd say i'd rather have Coleman than Cobb, cause Whisenhunt has a bad history of playing rookies.

Are you high on John Brown in a PPR? I am considering grabbing Markus Wheaton and I would either drop brown or brian quick...and I am high on quick

@Pablo, forget Wheaton. He's forgettable. Keep Brown and Quick imo.

teddy bridgewater or sam bradford as the #2 QB

@Priscilla, Bradford

Ed what are your thoughts on Derek Carr being a good fanstsy qb this season?

@Jodi, chances are low really. his division is tough as hell to throw in. He's a player with a lot of issues too. Reaching the top 12 and becoming startable is hard.

do u like bridge? i have him and bradford might have to drop one

@Dexter, i like Bradford more. Bridge is a great NFL QB, but i don't think he's a great fantasy QB.

thoughts on david Johnson?

@Pablo, like David Johnson's long term prospects a lot but they didn't sign CJ2K because they think Johnson can be a runner. He'll be a receiving back who might take a few carries here and here (talking like 5 a game) and that's how you should treat him. I think he'll spend his rookie season as the #3 until injury strikes.

ladarius green or antonio gates

@Mauricio, gonna say Gates. Green has been an athlete with no football skills. Until week 3 hits and we see him then in the dress rehearsal, i don't believe he's developed.

like Victor Cruz for 900-1,000 yards?

@patricia, yeah. Cruz in the slot is where he's best.

Ed you think Mike Evans will have a consistent year with Jameis Winston fantasy wise?

@Jodi, no. No one will be consistent in the TB offense. Too many issues with the OL and Jameis is a very hot and cold guy. They might be good season-long, but there won't be consistency.

What do you think of tom brady and carson palmer as my QBs

@Mauricio, looks okay.

PPR, Danny Woodhead and Sanders or Forsett?

@Eloise, Forsett for me.

10 team PPR .. i took Julio with the 7th pick and landed Hill with my second pick at 14... Bold move or Sensible going after jones at 7?

@Pablo a-okay with me. I don't think i have hill ranked that far off from 14.

sleeper RB?

@Priscilla, mentioned before, Matt Jones is the sleeper for me. Other than that Bishop Sankey is likely to have the starting job for at least 4 weeks, if not longer if he plays well.

Ed what are you thoughts on Hopkins?

@Jodi, Hoyer is goign to hurt him early in the season because Brian Hoyer is terrible. Loss of Foster is going to hurt scoring opportunities and end drives early unless Blue takes a huge step forward. Once Ryan Mallett starts, i think Hopkins starts going back to being good (and believe me, he will start eventually). But he'llbe a rough guy to have if you pay up for him.

would u drop Mike Wallace or Brandon Marshall for Adams

@Carla, I'd see if i can package Wallace in a trade instead of straight up dropping him. But i'm not dropping B marsh for Adams.

Should I replace one of my rbs in 1 point ppr, 10 team for Charles sims, david johnson, jay ajayi, denagelo williams, cameron artis-pain. My running backs are foster, blue, blount, randle, spiller

@Mauricio, nah. No one there offers you anything better.

ed what u think of my team 12pt ppr: bradford, eddie lacy, jonathan stewart, a.j. green, jordan cameron, eifert, cooks bench: chris ivory, duke johnson, allen robinson, nelson agholor, adams, gurley, tre mason

@Dexter, it's like you picked a team of all the players i like.

Ed would it be smart to trade Jonathan Stewart during the season if he plays really well cause of his injury history?

@Jodi, yeah it makes sense. but it won't happen. Everyone in oyur league knows about his injury history too and you're going to get lowballed.

marvin jones or rueben randle

@priscilla, gonna say Randle. Dalton feeding 3 mouths seems way less likely than Eli.

keeper advice needed please

@Della, what's up.

Pick 3, Anderson, Beckham, Brady, Keenan Allen, Foster???

@Della, same price for all of them?

@Della, Beckham, Anderson, Allen

PPR, Rodgers, Adams, Danny Woodhead Jason Witten or Jamaal Charles, Eli Manning, and Forsett?

@Eloise, Charles/Eli/Forsett

Ed so would it be best to just keep him?

@Jodi, yeah unless you get a good deal.

Leaning towards Anderson, Beckham, Brady maybe draft foster in round 7 in a 14 team keepa??

@della, I'd let Brady go. You can draft him back for way cheaper. Allen's like a 5th round pick.

Brady goes in like the 7th or 8th.

Ed how does losing kelvin benjamin affect Stewart's value?

@Jodi, don't know if it does really. He was doing well last year with only two receiving threats and no run threat from Cam. Run threat from Cam is the bigger factor in Stewart imo.

What about fosters adp in a 14 teamer? So owners tend to reach in this league

@Della, still not worth it. Keeping Foster for a 3rd? What's the point?

Allen ina 14 teamer goes as a late 4th.

Foster's still like a 6th.

Ed wants your take on Chris ivory?

@Jodi, if there's nay year for him to go big, it's this one. Was just watching ihis week 2, he's added tons of elements to his game he never had before. He already learned to catch last year, but now he can do strong cuts that he was never able to do before. He's going to get a lot of usage while healthy and for his price, it's worth the risk.

russell wilson, round 6. randall cobb round 2 aj green round 1 and brandin cooks round 8

@Bill, next time keep all your messages in one line please. Keep Cooks and Wilson.

Thought for keeping brady is the league gives points for completions as well .5 for comp -.25 for inc

@Della, doesn't matter to me. He's easier to draft back than Allen, hat's the entire logic. You can get Brady in the 6th. You won't get Allen back unless you grab him in the 4th and it's a free keeper spot. Unless you don't have to keep them at all, in which case i'd just go with the first two.

On top of that QBs are incredibly easy to replace.

10 tm PPR ... RBs: Hill, Forsett, Ivory, Abdullah, Duke Johnson .. WRs: Julio, Cooks, Jarvis Landry, Amari, Brown, Quick, ... QBs Ryan Tannehill and Eli .. TE: Cameron ..... I feel like i hit every pick, but is this too good to be true?

@Pablo, Great team. Like it a lot. Don't see any real issues, you've got a lot of upside players and a lot of floors

Will Zac Stacy have an impact for the jets?

@Edith, no.

in 1 point PPR who is better. charles johnson, devante parker, perrymen, roddy white, brandon coleman, latimer

@Mauricio, Charles Johnson

I'll be wrapping this up in about 5 minutes so get your last Q's in.

Ed what's the deal with Brian quick?

@Jodi, he's starting. I mean, what else is there to be with him?

Thanks Ed. Do you do the Q&A throughout the year? Just found rotoballer this baseball season

@Pablo, i think we will be this year.

Is DBJ worth owning in a 10 team full point ppr league

@Mauricio, DBJ? is that dorial green-beckham? i have no idea who that is.

Is he the nb 1 in St. Louis Ed?

@Jodi, yeah. Should be at least. Still a chance for a Kenny Britt comeback to be honest.

ed what would be your approach in a 12 team 2pt ppr if u dont know ur pick yet? still go top rb early first and top wr mid to late first

@Dexter, best pick available. I'd probably want Antonio Brown more than anyone else in that league.

Dorial Green beckem worth owning in 10 team 1 point ppr league?

@Mauricio, yeah but not if you're dropping a legit starter. He's going to sit for at least 4 weeks.

Pick 2 of 4, Mark Ingram (for an 8th rd. pick), Jordan Mathews (9th), Mike Evans (6th), Ryan Tannehill (13th)

@Jacques, Matthews and Evans for me.

Ed what's your take on Shane vereen?

@Jodi, Giants love Vereen. They talk about giving him carries and all this other jazz. It's looking more and more like he'll actually get some kind of legit 8+ carries a game in addition to catches. Going to be a lot of value for him.

ed thoughts on duke? u think he can take that job?

@Dexter, only if Isaiah Crowell fails, Duke's great and all but the coaches there have said specifically that they see him as more of a giovanni bernard role. Crowell's a good player, so he has to lose the job for Johnson to take it.

Tavon Austin or one of the new Green Bay Receivers (Ty Montgomery or Janis)

@Patrick, neither, there's no way that's the best you can find.

Ed I asked you earlier about trading Vereen and bells handcuff for Allen Rob should I still consider it?

@Jodi, yeah, totally.

Rank John Brown Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd?

@Moneyball, Fitz>Brown>Floyd right now

Jeff Janis almost looks like Nelson

@Aretha, looks and plays are way different

Would you take Demarco Murray with the #5 overall pick or Gronk or a top WR?

@Jacques, Gronk or a top WR.

Janis or Montgomery

@Patrick, Janis if you're desperate. I'd take neither. They're not going to do any better than Adams last year (which is like 450 yards and 4 TDs)

Ed just if veree a is as valuable as you said he will be would it be smart to trade him?

@Jodi, yes Jodi. He can be as valuable as he wants but Robinson can be a low end WR1 if things go really well for Blake Bortle's development. Vereen's going to be a mid RB2.

Julian edelman or Charles Johnson?

@Gena, Edelman regardless of scoring for me.

How about LeSean or Gronk/Top 5 WR?

@Jacques, I wouldn't touch Lesean before the 3rd round. Either grab the WR or Gronk, imo.

That or hope a top 4 RB falls to you.

green over cobb?

@patricia, i'd believe it. AJ Green is a lot more likely to be featured than Cobb, even with Nelson out.

Ed is it official to say that Charle s Johnson is def going to be the nb1 wr in minn?

@Jodi, yes

and with that, i'm closing up for tonight.

I'm in the regular chat pretty often so find me there if ya need anything, or add me on twitter. @edwardgorelik

See ya everyone. Be sure to check back next week, same time and place, and come to our live Q&A chat rooms anytime.
