Fantasy Football Stock Rising / Falling from PHI vs NE and JAX vs CHI

This post originally appeared on Rotoback.

I finally got around to turning on my Preseason Pass and watching the games from last week, so I thought i'd go through some of the games and break down the players that caught my eye. First two games will be the Jacksonville Jaguars against the Chicago Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles against the New England Patriots.

Stock Rising / Falling JAX vs CHI

JAX QB Blake Bortles - Bortles play has been dissected to hell but he's definitely been one of the best passers this preseason. He's got the second highest pass grade on PFF right now and those throws on the run were beauties. I believe you should be starting your future as soon as possible and that there's no such thing as learning from the bench, so I expect the Jaguars to turn to Bortles at some point in the near future.

JAX RB Denard Robinson - Denard looked very good against the Bears 2nd/3rd stringers in Week 2, breaking tackles and out running players constantly. He should end up being Gerhart's backup this season, and being that I'm not huge on Gerhart, it wouldn't be too surprising if he found himself stealing carries by the end of the year. He's still more of a dynasty play than redraft.

Stock Rising / Falling from PHI vs NE

Photo by APNE WR Kenbrell Thompkins - He picked up from where he left off last season, making plenty of athletic moves and skillful catches against the Eagles defense. Thompkins has Brady's trust and was using it to the fullest, at least two of his catches could have been highlights. His open field moves are very deadly and his ability to adjust to the ball is very exciting to watch. Last year there was a lot of hype about him leading up to fantasy draft day and he really didn't pay off on it. I'm willing to believe again.

PHI RB Henry Josey - Josey was consistently finding open space against second/third stringers and demonstrated the ability to run through arm tackles at will. One of Josey's knocks out of college was whether or not he'd be durable enough to handle an NFL workload since his highest carries in a season were 174. On a team like the Eagles though, he might fit perfectly as the backup who relieves LeSean McCoy. That's high hopes but I'm willing to take Josey in a dynasty.

PHI DE Vinny Curry - Curry's here for his potential. He flashes plenty of deadly pass rushing abilities but as a run defender he gets beat as often as he gets into the hole. Right now, he's PFF highest graded pass rusher amongst 3-4 DEs for the preseason and last year he was rated as the 8th best for the regular season. Curry has all the talent and should be owned in a IDP Dynasty. If he's ever moved to a team where he can focus on pass rushing and only pass rushing, we could see him explode.
