Here is some good news for anyone who owns Houston Texans running back Alfred Blue. Although the Texans have a tough Week 13 matchup against the Buffalo Bills, Blue is expected to be near 100 percent for the contest.
Blue is officially probably for the matchup with a sore back. He’s reportedly a little banged up, but will be fine to go on Sunday.
Blue is the only running back on the Houston Texans roster worth starting consideration this week. Against almost any other team I would consider him a RB2, but against the Bills I would peg him in as a RB3.
Through 11 games this season Blue has 430 yards on 123 carries for an average of 3.5 yards per carry and two touchdowns on the ground. He has added 102 yards on 13 receptions and another touchdown in the passing game.
Unfortunately for Blue, this will probably the last season he’ll ever get to start for an NFL team. I expect the Texans to draft a younger back in the offseason since Arian Foster can’t seem to stay healthy.
In other Texans news, coach Bill O’Brian has said that his team is trying to get rookie receiver Jaelen Strong more involved in the offense. O’Brien says Strong has “really improved a lot.”
Strong showed flashes of greatness while Cecil Shorts and Nate Washington were out of action due to injuries, but since they returned he has been inactive every week.
At 6’2” the third-round pick should eventually become the starter across from superstar DeAndre Hopkins, but he needs to get more accustomed to the pro game. He has three receptions for 58 yards and two touchdowns thus far this season.
Strong is a must hold in dynasty leagues, but has no value in redraft leagues this season unless Shorts or Washington go down.
Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman was listed as a full participant in the team’s practice on Thursday, which is great news for fantasy players. Freeman is a “don’t even think about it” must start RB1 this week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Freeman has proved himself as one of the most valuable fantasy stars this season. He has 764 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground – and that’s not all! He also has 48 receptions for 420 yards and another two touchdowns.
Freeman is probably the best player you could own in all fantasy football formats this season.
