Baller Move: Handcuff to Jonathan Stewart and Cameron Artis-Payne
Owned In: 2% of Fleaflicker Leagues
Analysis: In relief of the rested Jonathan Stewart last week, Whittaker carried the ball eight times for 34 yards and a touchdown in a blowout win against the Atlanta Falcons. With a performance like that in shortened playing time, it appeared that Whittaker would get the nod if Stewart were to miss additional time in the remaining weeks of the 2015 season. But Cameron Artis-Payne is likely to be active this week against the New York Giants, with all the hype surrounding him.
Whittaker has seen more of the field this season but has picked up only 18 carries for 74 yards behind Stewart. Whittaker is more of a third down option and a passing back, holding some value in deeper PPR leagues. He has eight catches for 44 yards on the year.
As of now, it is difficult to trust Whittaker. If Artis-Payne proves to be ineffective against New York, Whittaker can take step in and hopefully take advantage of a vulnerable Giants defense that give up 110.2 yards on the ground per game. But right now during fantasy playoffs, "ifs" are too iffy to feel comfortable with.
Whittaker isn't worth a grab, even as a stash, in any league really. Not yet at least.
