ANALYSIS: Miami Dolphins running back Frank Gore has 131 carries for 595 yards this season, but could see a boost in his value this week. Kenyan Drake, who had two touchdowns last week, is dealing with a shoulder injury and could miss this weekend's game. Drake was only able to play 24 of 56 snaps last week, but did still tally 96 yards from scrimmage.
All told, it does seem that Drake and Gore are fully in a running back by committee situation, as Gore has 141 touches this season and Drake has 127. Gore has just 10 catches this season (compared to the 38 for Drake), but has 131 carries to Drake's 89 and is averaging a strong 4.5 yards per carry. Although he has missed out on the end zone (just a receiving touchdown this season), Gore could be a volume-based, low-end RB1 without Drake.
A lot of value for Gore comes from Drake's health, as matchups against the Patriots, Vikings, and Jaguars are less than ideal. They do face the Bills twice (24th against fantasy RB), but one of their matchups is Week 17. A matchup in Miami against Buffalo this week is strong, though, and Gore is a low-end RB2 for Week 13 if Drake sits.
