MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Picks
Robbie Ray UNDER 7.5 strikeouts (-140 Caesars Sportsbook)
This is a high number and a high price on Ray, which may make him best to put in a "safe" parlay today. He managed to go seven strong innings in his first start of the season against the Twins, but also struck out just five hitters in that outing. While the Twins have started the season with a near 20% K rate against lefties across 77 plate appearances, the White Sox are posting the second-best K rate against lefties with a rate of just 11.9% across 42 plate appearances. Although this sample size is small, it could be a trend for 2022 with their right-handed heavy lineup.
Corbin Burnes OVER 6.5 strikeouts (-130 Caesars Sportsbook)
Burnes had a bit of a rough outing in his first start of the season against the Chicago Cubs, but he did manage to throw 83 pitches and struck out four batters across five innings pitched. He should be nice and loose for a solid matchup against the Orioles, who are currently striking out at a clip of 26% against right-handed pitchers over their first 104 plate appearances, which ranks fourth-worst in baseball. Brunes is known to be a high strikeout pitcher as he posted a 12.61 K/9 in 2021.
MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Picks
Mitch Haniger OVER 1.5 total bases (+105 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Suarez has a solid matchup in this one against Dallas Keuchel, who allowed right-handers to mash 18 bombs off him in 2021 as well as posting a .572 FIP. Haniger is fresh off a 2021 season in which he posted a .851 OPS against southpaws while mashing 13 home runs in just 190 at-bats. This should be a solid matchup for him in a relatively friendly hitter's park as well.
Xander Bogaerts OVER 1.5 total bases (+120 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Bogaerts gets to face left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez, who struggled in his first start of the season by allowing three earned runs over four innings pitched and striking out just two in a loss against the White Sox. He has always struggled against right-handed hitters as noted by the 25 home runs he has allowed to them over his previous two seasons. Bogaerts has been strong against lefties as he posted a .836 OPS in 2021 and a 1.014 OPS in 2020 against southpaws.
Austin Riley OVER .5 home runs (+275 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Riley gets to face Nats' starter Josiah Gray, who struggled against right-handed hitters in his 2021 debut season as he allowed 10 home runs over just 32 innings pitched to them. Riley is actually strongest against righties as he posted a .943 OPS and hit 29 of his 31 home runs in 2021 against right-handed pitchers. Riley also posted a .833 OPS against Gray across six at-bats in 2021.
