BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 23% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: We've now reached the point of the season where the sample size on Jacksonville Jaguars rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew is big enough to justify him being a roster option in single quarterback fantasy leagues.
Minshew had his best game as a passer on Sunday, going 26-for-44 for 374 yards and throwing a pair of touchdowns. He still hasn't thrown an interception since Week 1 against the Chiefs, and Minshew also had a chance to show off his legs against the Panthers, running for 42 yards on seven carries.
In standard scoring, Minshew is the fantasy QB11 right now. While a Week 6 meeting with the Saints isn't hugely promising, he gets the Bengals and the Jets after that and can be a suitable bye week replacement over that span.
The Jaguars passing game did lose tight end James O'Shaughnessy to a torn ACL on Sunday, but that shouldn't have a huge impact on Minshew's fantasy ceiling. He's still got D.J. Chark as an end zone threat and Dede Westbrook to help him compile some easy, short receptions. If you carry two quarterbacks on your roster, consider using Minshew as that second one. If you're in a 14-team league, maybe consider using Minshew as your starter.
