Baller Move: Add in deeper leagues

Analysis: It is odd to discuss a guy who at first glance, is losing appeal. In the first five weeks of the season Celek averaged 3.8 targets, 2.8 receptions, and 26.2 receiving yards per game with a single touchdown catch. In the four weeks since then; Celek has averaged a meager 1.5 targets, 0.75 receptions, and five yards per game. To top it off, Blaine Gabbert is not the quarterback for the 49ers.
So what changed and what would make anyone be so optimistic about Celek moving forward? The obvious answer is the departure of Vernon Davis. In his 2015 time with the 49ers, Vernon Davis averaged five targets, three receptions, and 32.3 yards per game. However, Davis's numbers are held back by two performances of three targets for zero receptions. In his four best games he averaged 6.75 targets, 4.5 receptions, and 48.5 yards per game.
Garrett Celek has shown to be a moderate deep threat as a TE with a career Y/R mark of 11.97. Celek has three touchdowns in 37 career games since 2012. 66.7% of those touchdowns just happen to have come last week under Gabbert, who only targeted Celek twice but connected for a touchdown on both looks.
With Vernon Davis gone, there's an average of five to seven targets left on the field, and Celek should be the one to pick them up--particularly in the red zone. Celek has high upside at TE in deeper leagues.
