Garrison Matthews (SG/SF, HOU): Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

ROSTERED IN: 39% of leagues

ANALYSIS: I'm writing this post mere hours after Houston made it official: Danuel House is no longer a Rocket after the official NASA Franchise cut him for good to make room for Matthews on a proper, no-two-way deal to become a full-time Rock going forward. Good news for a Garrison Mathews and his upside, as you don't go cutting fools in the middle of the strongest COVID wave in a while.

Mathews debuted as late as Nov. 15 playing just 15 minutes. He already put on a nice 7-1-1 line. Since then, he's played 15 more games and even better he has started all last 11 matches played by Houston through Friday at the SG position. Seriously. The Rockets didn't lose a single game Mathews had started until last Friday when they dropped one to the Nets. That's bonkers but not just a coincidence, believe me.

As a starter, Mathews has been able to average a fantastic 14.5 PPG (3.0 3PM a game in that span), 3.8 RPG, and almost one steal a pop. The dimes are just nonexistent, so that hurts. But at least he's making up for that blemish with the super low turnovers and some great shooting--keep an eye on that, though, as he's on a very deep slum through the past week of play shooting a measly 21.7% on 8 FGA since Dec. 11. Barring that little bump on his road, Matthews is hitting 41.7% of his shots as a starter, has gone to the charity stripe in all last nine games, and he's hitting freebies at an 84.8% clip (29-for-34 in December).

Fantasy Basketball Deeper-League Waiver Wire Adds for Week 24: Isaac Okoro, Kris Dunn, Josh Richardson, Corey Kispert, Delon Wright

The deeper a fantasy basketball league, the harder it is to hit a winner with your last few picks. It is also harder to find decent help from the waiver wire if your late-round picks don't do you justice. If you picked up a few stinkers, don't lose hope just yet. I will try to... Read More

Onyeka Okongwu (SF/PF, ATL): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 16% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Hawks are currently the 10th seed in the East but are also tied for 8th and 9th with Brooklyn and Charlotte respectively. There's even a chance (albeit small) that Atlanta could rise as high as to reach the 7th seed if... Read More

Immanuel Quickley (PG, NYK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 48% of leagues ANALYSIS: If we use common basketball sense, then the New York Knicks and Coach Thibs should try and see what the young guys such as Immanuel Quickley have in them and what they can provide the franchise with ROS, as the NYK are... Deni Avdija (SG/SF, WAS): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 37% of leagues ANALYSIS: One would reasonably think that a player seeing a playing-time boost such as that of Deni Avdija's this month would make said player drop his efficiency numbers. Well, not the case for the Wiz Wing by the looks of it. Avdija has... Read More

Nicolas Claxton (PF/C, BRK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 24% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Nets can finally rest assured they'll make the play-in portion of the season. Not quite what you expected when the season got rolling back in October, but at least more than what the Lakers would have accomplished a week from now.... Read More
