ANALYSIS: The Seattle Mariners hold an impressive slew of former college arms among their top prospect ranks, one of whom being former Elon University ace George Kirby. The 6'4, 215-lb. blue chip made an impressive run through the minors after going 20th overall in the 2019 MLB Draft, totaling a 2.61 ERA, 1.07 WHIP, 0.4 HR/9, 1.6 BB/9, and 10.7 K/9 in 117.1 IP through 30 games (29 starts).

His peripherals measure well with a 24.3% strikeout rate and stifling 3.3% walk rate, with his uncharacteristic area of struggle being in power on batted balls, allowing 8.1% XBH and 3.6% HR. Kirby seems to be reeling himself in though. He allowed just 29.1% hard contact through July, and in his five starts since the beginning of last month, Kirby has yet to allow a homer will throwing for a 2.05 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 32 strikeouts in 26.1 IP. If you are in a 10+ team league where George Kirby is still available, act fast to have the talented arm at your disposal down the home-stretch of the regular season.
