ANALYSIS: New head coach Kyle Shanahan and the Niners fell in love with the rookie Kittle in training camp and the preseason -- it prompted them to trade Vance McDonald to Pittsburgh -- but that hadn't really shown through the first four weeks. In Week 5, however, Kittle erupted for a season-high seven receptions (nine targets) for 83 yards and his first NFL touchdown.
In all fairness, the big game came against a weak Colts defense, but Kittle remains a big part of this offense and will get his chances. San Fran has also had to pass often to remain in games, so game script will play in his favor most weeks. Kittle will be a very attractive fantasy streamer in Week 6 against Washington -- a team that has allowed the third most fantasy points (18.4) to tight ends in 2017.
