Gerald Everett (TE, LAR) - Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: Although Gerald Everett (5.3 PPG) has been worse than Los Angeles Rams' TE1 Tyler Higbee (10.3) so far this season, it's a little bit crazy to find they rostered in 1% and 95% of Yahoo! leagues respectively. And that difference is only growing less reasonable each passing week.

While Higbee has entered a clear downward trend (from 28.4 to 8.0 to 5.1 to 3.2 PPR points in his last four games), Everett has gone in the opposite direction (from 5.4 to 6.2 to 13.0 points in his last three). Higbee has kept the no. 1 tight end role, though, playing 154 snaps to Everett's 91 in the last three matches LA has played, but the outcomes of both players don't align with their usage rates.

Although Higbee had his best game (28.4 points) thanks to 3 TDs in Week 2, he's not scored a touchdown in any other game, same as Everett. The latter, though, had the best game (other than that Higbee explosion) of the two this past Sunday catching 4-of-4 targets for 90 yards through the air. Everett led all Rams receivers this past weekend, and while that was a surprise, he had shown in the past that he could reach those heights.

San Francisco is supposed to give LA's tight end fits next week (2nd-best defense against the position) but the trend is there and if all things stay the same Everett should once more outperform Higbee. For the price, you'll need to pay to add Everett to your roster (nothing, as he's available for free in virtually every league) he's well worth the flier if you're streaming the position even in a tough matchup (he faces a much-better opponent in Chicago--22nd--in Week 7).
