Gordon Hit In Face During Batting Practice

Kansas City Royals outfielder Alex Gordon was hit in the face with a ball during batting practice on Thursday.

Gordon suffered a bloody nose but manager Ned Yost said he is otherwise fine. The starting leftfielder will likely be in the Kansas City lineup when it host the Toronto Blue Jays for Game 6 of the ALCS on Friday.

The 31-year-old has been one of the better hitters during the ALCS. Gordon has a .313 BA with two doubles after a .235 BA in the ALDS.

The Royals are up 3-2 in the series and could put it away on Friday and advance to their second straight World Series. If not, there will be a decisive Game 7 on Saturday. The winner of the series will host the New York Mets. Kansas City could use the three-time All-Star to keep up with the offense of the Blue Jays. Gordon had a .271 BA with 13 HR and 48 RBI this season.
