Curtis Granderson is dealing with a jammed thumb after a slide during the NLDS.
The news broke out after the New York Mets showed a photo of the team practicing in Kansas City in preparation for the World Series. In the photo, Granderson was shown wearing a form of protection on his thumb.

Mets manager Terry Collins said that Granderson jammed his thumb prior to Game 4 of the NLCS. He played through it and went 1-for-5 with a run scored in the clincher. Collins said the 34-year-old was fine then and is fine now.
The veteran outfielder has been one of the key components to the Mets offense all season long and in the postseason too. Granderson had a .303/.385/.364 batting line with 7 RBI in nine games. He will bat in his usual leadoff spot against Edinson Volquez for Game 1 of the World Series in Kansas City.
