Gus Edwards (RB, BAL) - Week 15 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

ROSTERED: 33% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: It's been hard to trust anyone part of Baltimore's backfield this season. The Ravens have used all of Mark Ingram II, J.K. Dobbins, and Gus Edwards in a very even balanced through the year. Edwards has averaged 9.0 opportunities per game through W14, compared to Dobbins' 9.8 and Ingram's 7.1. From Week 6 on, though, Ingram has faded out of the equation steadily with only 21 combined opportunities in five games bottoming out at one snap, no rushes, no targets this past Monday against the Browns.

Now a two-man backfield, Edwards is a much more palatable fantasy asset. Gus the Bus is a pure rusher, though, so don't look for PPR-upside here. It is not that Dobbins is a pass-catching monster either, but at least he's looked at from time to time. On a relatively small usage, Edwards has been hella efficient: he's rushed the ball 23 times in the past three games and he's racked up 160 total yards and 3 touchdowns in those matches.

The best thing about Edwards is that whenever he logs a yard-dud (10 yards in W12) he makes up for it by scoring (1 TD in W12), and also the other way around (101 yards and 0 TDs in W13). He's going to give you a 10-point floor weekly with upside for a high-end RB2 finish if he gets into the end zone, something he's done twice in the past three weeks and six times through the season.

The Ravens could have finally moved on from Ingram and they also have two incredibly great matchups ahead in W15 (Jaguars, 4th-worst defense against fantasy RBs) and W16 (Giants, 9th-worst), which could very well turn Edwards into a massive point-getter for his GMs during the last two games of the playoffs for those in deeper formats looking for some extra juice.
