Hanley Ramirez will sit out for the fourth straight day on Monday when the Boston Red Sox play the New York Yankees.
A shoulder issue is keeping the slugger out of the lineup as fantasy leagues begin their playoffs. Ramirez missed the entire weekend series against the Mets with fatigue in his left shoulder, and apparently the fatigue is still bad enough for him to miss another game.
It’s been another injury-plagued season again for the Red Sox outfielder. He’s at the point in his career that he just simply doesn’t play every day anymore even though he hasn’t landed on the DL. There’s no question when Ramirez returns.
The 31-year-old has managed to play in 105 games this season with .249 BA to go along with 19 HR and 53 RBI. Ramirez is signed through 2019, which will make the Red Sox take their time without having him facing a long-term injury.
