Harrison Bryant (TE, CLE) - Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

ROSTERED: 1% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: Whether you live stuck to your phone's notifications (as I do) or not (as every sane person does), you must have heard it by now: Odell Beckham Jr. is done for the year--and most importantly for the purposes of this post, TE1 Austin Hooper missed time and will probably stay benched at least until Week 10. Who benefited the most from those two absences? Mighty rookie Harrison Bryant.

You read that right. Cleveland drafted rookie in the fourth round of the latest NFL draft, and they did with David Njoku and Austin Hooper already in tow. Expectations for Bryant in 2020: lower than low. Until Week 7, that was.

Bryant scored a couple of touchdown in his seventh professional game, led the whole league in PPR points (21.6) at the tight end position, and did so catching 4 of a season-high 5 targets for 56 yards. Quite a day for the rook, indeed. Don't get surprised, though, as Bryan has played an average of 35 snaps this season, has featured in every Browns game and has run the second-most routes (73; 82% routes run) at the TE position for the team only behind Austin Hooper (135; 78%).

With Hooper expected to be out until Cleveland's bye (Week 9), Bryant should get most of the looks at the position in the next weekend's game against Las Vegas. Even when Hooper returns, and with OBJ out for good, it is more than probable that the Browns use more 12 and 22 Personnel going forward, which should give Harrison more opportunities.

I'd stream Harrison in virtually every league this upcoming weekend at the TE position, and I'd have him as a must-add in every 12+ team league and deeper ones as a ROS great play--Cleveland's five games after the bye: against just the 25th-, 28th-, 27th-, 26th, and 19th-best defenses against fantasy TEs.
