BALLER MOVE: Add In 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 28% of leagues
ANALYSIS: It took what felt like ages, but it seems Harry Giles has finally arrived. After missing his rookie season due to injury, Giles debuted last year and already played 58 games without much fanfare. He's on pace to play 55 this year if he doesn't suffer any injury, and he's already started 15 matches on the season. Related to that, 12 of those 15 starts have come in the last 14 games, which bodes well for the forward ROS.
With the starts have come the minutes and with the minutes the production. Giles averaged a paltry 11 mpg leading up to his fourth start of the season back on Feb. 1. Since then he's averaged almost 22 minutes per game and played more than 25 minutes in seven of those games (average of 27 mpg in those). Obviously, his numbers have gone all the way up with that bump in playing time: in the eight games since the AS break, Giles is posting 13-7-2-1-1 lines nightly.
As Giles focuses on working the paint and doesn't stretch the floor too much, his shooting numbers are always going to be high. He's shot at a 60.8% clip in his last seven games, scored 10+ points in all of those matches, and his usage rate and field goal attempts are healthy enough at 21.9% and 10 fga per game respectively. The Kings are fighting for a playoff spot but they'll need everything and then some from every single player, Giles included. He will keep getting chances and is a starter these days. Consider him a little too much for a standard-size league, but a great addition in deeper ones.
