ANALYSIS: Pittsburgh tight end Heath Miller has quietly been one of the best tight ends in the NFL for nearly a decade. In contrast to the new-age, physical freak tight ends like Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham, Miller is a utilitarian player who does everything well and nothing spectacularly.

Miller is not going to post eye-popping numbers, especially in an offense with plenty of other weapons. His value lies in the rapport he has built with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Miller and Big Ben are playing their 11th season together. When Ben is in trouble (which has been often due to an often shoddy offensive line in Pittsburgh), he looks for his trusty tight end. While Heath is getting up there in years (32), his production on opening night against the Patriots indicated that he will still play a prominent role on what will eventually be a high-powered Steelers offense.

Miller was targeted 11 times and finished with eight catches for 84 yards. He made a decently athletic play in catching a third-and-18 pass one yard short of a first down. Most importantly, he was targeted four times in the red zone, though without a score. With Le'Veon Bell still one week from returning, and Martavis Bryant shelved until Week Five, Roethlisberger has limited options in the red zone. He will continue to go where he is comfortable, and that is Heath Miller.

Owners of Gronkowski, Graham, Travis Kelce, Jordan Cameron, Greg Olsen, and Martellus Bennett can skip this section. Otherwise,  an argument can be made to try Heath over any other tight end in the league, at least for this week.
