BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 56% of leagues
ANALYSIS: We will see how things settle in New Orleans after their high-impact trades this past deadline, but for what it's worth and the little we've watched through Friday, things should remain the same (until Zion is back, at least) for rook Herbert Jones. Jones, who hasn't missed on starting a game of those in which he's appeared for 36 matches and running, spanning all the way back to Nov. 24!
It seems like Brandon Ingram and Herb Jones will stay on the wings, with the latter getting to the paint more than the former given his build. Jones has averaged 30 MPG over the full season, and an even higher 33 MPG since we turned the calendar to 2022. In the past two weeks of play (seven games) Jones has managed to raise his FP/min a bit compared to his prior figure. He's still a below-average player on that front, but given his playing time and his rookie-linked growing pains, that's reasonable.
As I said in the intro paragraph, while Zion remains out there is nothing preventing Jones from keeping racking up minutes. He's putting up numbers on the scoring front (12 PPG from Jan. 1) even though his usage rate is ground-level at 14.5%. Jones is getting low-but-steady boards and dimes, but he's been ridiculous at stealing the rock, seriously. Jones has stolen 38 total possessions since Jan. 1 for an average of 1.9 SPG (and that's not an outlier, his season-long figure stands at 1.5 SPG). The blocks are a little bit more random, but still good for an 0.9 BPG average. All things considered, five players are putting up at least 1.5 steals and 0.9 blocks on the full season, and the four not named Herb go by the name of LeBron, Lonzo, Thybulle, and Covington. Not bad company, is it?

Fantasy Basketball Deeper-League Waiver Wire Adds for Week 24: Isaac Okoro, Kris Dunn, Josh Richardson, Corey Kispert, Delon Wright
The deeper a fantasy basketball league, the harder it is to hit a winner with your last few picks. It is also harder to find decent help from the waiver wire if your late-round picks don't do you justice. If you picked up a few stinkers, don't lose hope just yet. I will try to […]
Onyeka Okongwu (SF/PF, ATL): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 16% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Hawks are currently the 10th seed in the East but are also tied for 8th and 9th with Brooklyn and Charlotte respectively. There's even a chance (albeit small) that Atlanta could rise as high as to reach the 7th seed if […]
Immanuel Quickley (PG, NYK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 48% of leagues ANALYSIS: If we use common basketball sense, then the New York Knicks and Coach Thibs should try and see what the young guys such as Immanuel Quickley have in them and what they can provide the franchise with ROS, as the NYK are […]
Deni Avdija (SG/SF, WAS): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 37% of leagues ANALYSIS: One would reasonably think that a player seeing a playing-time boost such as that of Deni Avdija's this month would make said player drop his efficiency numbers. Well, not the case for the Wiz Wing by the looks of it. Avdija has […]
Nicolas Claxton (PF/C, BRK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 24% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Nets can finally rest assured they'll make the play-in portion of the season. Not quite what you expected when the season got rolling back in October, but at least more than what the Lakers would have accomplished a week from now. […]
