Hunter Pence could return to the DL as he continues to battle a wrist injury, according to Mercurynews.com.
Pence, 32, has missed the last four games for the San Francisco Giants. While swinging off a tee and taking batting practice on Tuesday, the outfielder felt more discomfort in his right wrist. Tuesday will mark the seventh straight day he will not be in the lineup.
Giants manager Bruce Bochy admitted to the Mercury News that it was "a possibility" that Pence would need a DL stint. "I don’t say likely," Bochy said. "Ask me that in the next day or so. I might switch over to likely."
It was a broken left forearm that forced him to miss more than the first month of the 2015 season. Pence was off to a great start this season with a .282 BA, 2 HR and 13 RBI. He’s a key component in the defending World Series champions as they look to repeat.
Despite not having Pence in the lineup for most of the season and the possibility of losing him for awhile again, the Giants are 32-26.
