Hunter Pence (Wrist) Swings Off Tee, No Timetable For Return

Hunter Pence took swings off a tee with a fungo bat on Tuesday, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Pence also played catch while he resumed baseball activities for the first time in nearly two weeks. It was positive news for the San Francisco Giants outfielder whose been dealing with a wrist injury.

There’s still no update on Pence’s return to the lineup. It all will depend on how his wrist reacts to an increase in activities.

The 32-year-old all-star has been dealing with injuries throughout the season. The multitude of injuries caused Pence to only play in 18 games this season. In those 18 games, he had 2 HR, 13 RBI and a .282 BA. When he’s played, he’s done well.

In 2013 and 2014, he played in all 162 games while making the all-star team last season. The injuries have piled up, but the defending World Series champions continue to win without him. They 42-35 and trail the Los Angeles Dodgers by half a game for first place in the NL West.
