BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 30% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Hunter Renfroe has hit 26 home runs in back to back seasons, and now looks well on his way to eclipsing that coveted 30 HR mark. He already has 14 on the year and has sported a higher wOBA (.366) and Barrel rate than ever before. He still strikes out a ton (26%) and will always rely on the long ball, but he’s Hunter Renfroe. That won’t change. His upside comes in striking out less and bringing up that Barrel rate, so there are less wasted at-bats.
With another two home runs last night and Renfroe looking like a lineup fixture for the Padres next to Manny Machado and Franmil Reyes, he can safely be picked up. There’s always a risk for a huge slump like that in 2017 that sent him to the minors, but he’s a far more mature hitter at this point and isn’t reliant on only hitting lefties. Renfroe has turned into a balanced power bat and is a phenomenal pickup if you need some power.
