Hunter Renfroe (OF, SD) - Week 7 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: Regular readers will recall that I entered the year with high expectations for Hunter Renfroe. Playing time has been somewhat of an issue thus far in the Padres' crowded outfield, but when he has suited up, Renfroe has performed. The 27-year-old is hitting .240/.286/.587 with nine home runs in just 112 plate appearances, and has even chipped in a couple of stolen bases.

Obviously the low average and OBP aren't ideal, but when you're belting bombs at close to a 50-homer full season pace as Renfroe currently is, they can be overlooked. Three of his nine home runs have come in the past week, including a pinch-hit grand slam last Sunday. That run has made him a popular add in recent days, but Renfroe remains available on the wire in two-thirds of Yahoo leagues at the moment.
