BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 12% of leagues
ANALYSIS: San Diego Padres outfielder Hunter Renfroe has a hit in three of the last four games, registering a multi-hit game on Saturday as well. Playing in Colorado this week, Renfroe made the most of his opportunity in elevation, hitting a homer and double in Denver. Renfroe now has 15 home runs for the season and is up to a .246 batting average in 314 plate appearances.
Since the All-Star break, Renfroe has a .527 slugging percentage, posting six doubles and eight home runs, and has also driven in 21 runs. A .255 batting average and .292 OBP are not good, but the fact that more than half of his home runs have come in the last 120 plate appearances is very good. A 38.8% hard hit ball rate in that time period has led to his successes, as has his 21.2% line drive rate and 40% fly ball rate.
Buying Renfroe is buying power in the absence of average, but fantasy owners may be interested in that for the stretch run. He might not be a great addition in shallow leagues, but Renfroe's power is useful in deeper leagues.
