BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 28% of leagues
ANALYSIS: San Diego Padres outfielder Hunter Renfroe should be bought for his power, but he also has a hit in five of the last six games, including two multi-hit games as well. Roping a double and two home runs this week, Renfroe has a .275/.293/.675 slash line this month. Renfroe has continued his power surge this month as well, clubbing five home runs in September.
Since the All-Star break, Renfroe has a .585 slugging percentage, posting eight doubles and 15 home runs, and has also driven in 35 runs. A .301 OBP is not good, as Renfroe still has a 3.8% walk rate in the second half, but a boost in batting average to .275 in the second half shows that he can contribute in more than just power stats. A 41.5% hard hit ball rate in the second half has led to his successes, as has his 19.2% line drive rate and 45.4% fly ball rate.
Buying Renfroe is buying power in the absence of plate discipline, but fantasy owners may be interested in that for the stretch run. Renfroe's power is useful in deeper leagues and he has shown enough with his average to merit additions in shallow leagues as well.
