MLB Network released their rankings of the top 10 outfield prospects in baseball, naming the Indians' Clint Frazier as the seventh-best, right behind another Indian, Bradley Zimmer.
The reasons why Cleveland has made only one outfield upgrade this offseason--a one year deal for Rajai Davis--would appear to be clear with these rankings. They have no intent on blocking either youngster's path to the majors. The furthest of Cleveland's top two outfielders from the big leagues, Frazier has all the makings of a future All-Star. Mixing on-base skills, power and a little bit of speed, the former first-rounder put up a stellar .285/.377/.465 slash while hitting 16 home runs, driving in 72 and stealing 15 in 501 at-bats for High-A Lynchburg. Though it is highly unlikely Frazier will see any time with the Indians this season, another great year in the minors should all but secure him a place in the Indians' outfield sooner rather than later. He should be owned in most keeper and dynasty leagues.
